I understand that nail polish remover is a no go on this resin model, but what are my options to remove the ugly gt2 decals from this model? I would just like to make it plain red. Cheers....
I'm pretty sure you can use it on resin models, you need to use Non Acetone NPR though, some on here have used it to remove the M stripes from BMW models.
Also just to let you know that I removed your other thread asking the same thing as you only need this one. Thanks.
Thanks for the reply, I am hoping to find someone who knows 100% someone who has handled a bbr resin. If it was a $20 model I would just test and see but I need to be sure lol.
Nooooo! don't use nail polish remover. In other threads they say it will react with the resin.
You can use automotive wax and hand buff the decals off without harming the paint or model if the decals are over the clear coat.
You are removing the decals from the clear coat/paintjob, not the resin, so I dont see why nail polish remover would be bad. Shouldnt matter at all what material is beneath.
You guys are correct..They said not to remove/strip the paint on resin models with NPR, so decal removal should be fine as long as you don't remove the paint under the decal.
thanks everyone on your input. I know this subject can be a pain in the ass since many threads are popping up about decal removal over and over. I just wanted to be specific as I haven't seen anyone attempt this on a bbr.
However, I found a member on this forum who has done such a thing, and his advice was also non-acetone npr followed by wax. (He has modified a bbr 458 and painted a gulf livery on it) Thank you Audirs6!
