Quick advice: should I keep a model in a certain color that I like but don't love and is worth significantly more than the other color, or sell it and get the model with a less sought after color but fits my collection better?

Why not? You earn some money too in the process. Collect what you like, not what is highly sought after. ;)

Just picked up my first model in almost 4 months, and first model at an actual store in at least 2 years. Feels good to actually check out in oppose to an online checkout!

I agree, always nice not to wait weeks to get the model you want, what did you get?

Maisto Lamborghini Diablo SV. My local Sam's Club restocked this week and since I've been wanting one for a while for my lambo collection I picked it up. Definitely a big step down in price and quality following my last 2 purchases (Autoart McLaren F1 and Autoart Koenigsegg CCX), but nevertheless a nice model

Currently in the process of trying to get autoart to add a "archived" section since they seem to have removed all older models from their website entirely, but it's starting to get frustrating since they don't understand what I mean

Good point, Wes. Diecast.org has long been my go-to site for researching old releases. It's not as complete as it should be, but still is pretty good.

Has anyone else wondered why Bburago makes really awesome 1:24 cars, but they don't produce them in 1:18? The 12c, Sesto Elemento, Murcielago SV, Aventador SV, 918, and MC12 are just a few

To any of those considering to bid or already bidding on the black Koysho Countach on eBay, please STAY AWAY from it. I want it and it's probably damaged anyway, so you don't want it anyway.

I wouldn't draw attention to it if I didn't want people to know about it. Now that you've informed me about it...

Less than a day to go. The feeding frenzy has begun. Time to grab some popcorn. It's times like this that make me wonder why nobody else makes a decent 1/18 Countach. I hope this one gets into your collection, snackwel5.

What's up with Autoart and releasing old stock on their website for their original prices? I'm seeing 6.0 Diablos, Original Gallardo Superleggeras, 1:12 Murcielago's, etc

Also worth noting that the sold out cars don't show up on their website anymore (reventons, different versions of the Veyron)

Those leftovers they have been trying to sell for a long time. Though the prices should be clearance. Guess the sellers know better than Autoart.

Thanks! It's a silver 2002 Mazda Protege5 hatchback. The new hood I have on it is black (primed), and i'm gonna put a carbon fiber vinyl rap on it. Since I tore my car apart in the front and now that i'm comfortable working with my car, I think i'm also gonna put carbon fiber rap on the side mirrors, the wing, and paint the wheels black. I might also add some carbon fiber accents into the interior. I'll post some picks of the before and after of the car in a sec

I hate to say it, but I'm not surprised given the lack of support from VS. I still talk to Justin (former DX owner) from time to time, and he always told me it was a question of not if but when DX would have these issues thanks to VS.

the red. its not a typical red. its like a multi dimensional candy apple red that will blow away any other red placed beside it.

The white/black works for me. That's the one I want to get. The red doesn't pop enough imo.

I saw a red Huayra when I met Horacio Pagani a couple years ago - trust me, it's the perfect color it.

i'm contemplating on which model I should get... Silver autoart Koenigsegg CCX, or Red Autoart Pagani Huayra? Both models have the same price

I've got both in the colors you're contemplating and the Huayra is a MUCH better model.

I got the Orange CCX and just recently acquired the red Huayra, the later is way better. Get the Huayra now cause the red one is going to be really hard to get in the future, the silver CCX on the other hand I quite doubt will have a big increase in value.

Was just in my first car accident yesterday... Nobody's hurt except my car. Shop I took it to said it will cost over $3,000 to fix. And all of this happens 2 weeks before my car would've been paid off

I feel your pain Snacks, and although I know you must be gutted, I firmly believe your first bump is a reminder just how much responsibility it is to fly around in a huge metal box - and will no doubt make you a far better driver in the long run. Just thank God you're OK - and no one else was hurt!

To all: Thanks for the kind words! I really appreciate the support from all of you. Being able to have such a friendly community on here is truly special. As for the car, my cousin is able to help fix my car, so now it will only cost about $1,200. Plus walking to work is getting me in better shape

WOW.... Just visited The Revs Institute in Naples, Florida and I was able to see the McLaren F1, 2 1965 Ford GT40's, an unrestored Porsche 917k, and many more! Will post pics very soon!

Can't wait to go to Naples, Florida in June! I'm gonna try and go to The Revs Museum and see the McLaren F1 for the very first time! Should I try and pick up a 1:43 minichamps F1 to take some comparison shots since there's no way I could bring my 1:18 Autoart?
