In his short NASCAR career, Pete Hamilton made his mark, winning the 1967 Sportsman title (forerunner to the Xfinity series) and in 1968 was Grand National Rookie of the Year. In the short-lived Grand American Division (NASCAR's answer to Trans-Am), in 1969 he won 12 of 26 races but finished 2nd in the title race. 1970 he joined Petty Enterprises and debuted by winning the Daytona 500 in his #40 Plymouth Superbird. Then he swept both Talladega 500-milers. R.I.P., Pete.
Had the cast on my wrist taken off today just 1.5 weeks after I actually broke it! Surgery sped up the recovery process by at least 6 weeks. The damage is 18 screws and a plate that I will have permanently! Can't wait to get back into models now...
D N'D-LandGood News!!! Get Well!!..and Stay Well! ;)

Rafael OliveiraDon't buy them, stick to diecast!

AOShandle things more carefully!
Mar 23 2017 10:59 AM
protzeneggerWhat Raf said ;) Or downsize to 1:43! Those always come with displays & storage/handling hasn't been an issue for me.

Just finished watching all of the 12 Hours of Sebring. 7 GTLM cars on the lead lap after 12 hours, as usual. Fun!
CreepyVanManI just started watching the 1994 Formula 1 season. Then I'll make my way to the present haha. New hobby
Mar 21 2017 01:00 AM
sennagtsThe saddest of all Formula 1 seasons :'(
Mar 21 2017 02:03 AM
CreepyVanManYeah, not the greatest one. But with those accidents came a lot of improved safety requirements. Much like the passing of Dale Earnhardt in NASCAR.

Oh no, not Chuck Berry.......RIP
Jersey_DevilI was being sarcastic, MM. And I have more respect for their stepdad than I do for any of them - he/she accomplished more in his life than all of them put together.

Hi all, Just a quick bump for Nominations for POTM for Feb, http://www.diecastxchange.com/forum1/topic/205321-nominations-for-february-2017-photo-of-the-month/ Please get your nominations in. Thanks.
I recently Sold the majority of my collection with only 6 remaining that I will keep. I've moved on from it, there was a few models I wanted but the prices are too high and I can't be bothered anymore.
jandro_f1I make the same with my models, in the last 2 years sold almost all of my 1/18 cars. I just keep 8 cars that I really like and some 1/43. Agree with the prices and also the new trend of resin doesn't get me and more sealed cars makes no sense.
Mar 17 2017 09:15 PM
protzeneggerAmen to that, bud. I plan to offload the vast majority of my 1:18s and even some 1:43s as I refocus. It's getting out of control - a small fortune if we want great diecast with opening parts, or settling for resin/"composite" if we want to save money. Unsustainable :(
Mar 20 2017 01:36 PM
silverstar189I'm not buying any resin models, I just don't like them. I've pretty much got all the great and good in diecast, so my 1/18 days are pretty much over
Mar 23 2017 12:41 PM
Today i added the last Mitsubishi EVO in my collection. The one i did't have so far. Pictures soon...
What do you think about the Minichamps 8C lungo die cast model, after visiting the alfa museo I am tempted in getting one!
sennagtsI read someone saying the wheels on the TSM were better. But the Minichamps is all opening sooo it's tough to choose
Mar 16 2017 11:06 PM
ironsimCorso posted pics of his here

jandro_f1Yes that is the same model I saw in the hobby shop, it was around $190, not cheap but the model is really nice!

Anyone know what does Kyosho mean by " Reimport Ver." on some of its models, for example: http://dc.kyosho.com/en/kyo8164e0.html. Are these reimport variants different from standard one?
More snow? I understand it's still winter here in New England, but please, enough is enough.
Jersey_DevilThis means I'm working from home for two days - I won't complain about THAT ;-)!
Mar 14 2017 02:12 PM
wrx_triggerhappyMother nature really had it out for us....10" of snow then downpours....nothing like snow blowing and then shoveling the roof totally drenched...NE weather...
Mar 15 2017 10:17 AM
AJG185I don't blame you for saying that, Sam. My poor dad had to shovel the driveway overnight. At least the storm's over.
