Seeing the prices so much of my collection sells for on ebay, I am considering parting with some of my models.

Just few old release AUTOarts and MINICHAMPS, race cars. I made a small list of cars I could part with, and not really affect my collection, and it added up to around $1000(ebay selling prices).

Tempted to buy a recent PMA released Porsche model in 1/18 scale. I love Porsche, but really disappointed with PMA's 1/18 model recently released.

The Macan turbo looks good and it has all 4 opening doors unlike the cayenne and panamera they make.

They're pretty hard to ruin. Look at my honda thread for some clues.http://www.diecastxchange.com/forum1/topic/124562-damaged-autoart-honda-ballade-crx/

lol, you sir seem to be an expert! But if I take of the undercarriage, how big is the chance of it being ruined?
    Oct 20 2014 06:44 PM
  • mkhabbaz's Photo
    mkhabbaz
If you move really slowly then its pretty small. Most of the AAs have 4/6 screws that attach the undercarriage to the body. These screws are covered by some removable plastic features that pop on/off. The undercarriage attaches with the wheels sometimes seats too. Other times the seats screw off on their own. Then you can usually unscrew the dash and reveal the door screws. Theres little opportunity to break anything especially if you're delicate. :)

Manufacturer's are now moving to sealed models. The hobby is getting more boring to me IMO. Recently Kyosho gone into sealed craps. I just hope the remaining stays with metal die casts with opening parts :/

I apologize for my comment, I kinda blurted it out without trying to word it differently/gently, but I hope you know what my frustration with the resin trend is. It's ruining the hobby for me.

Well maybe because some people like the design? And maybe the design is more important when its on display and not everyone has time to pick them up and open shit up?? I have both in my collection including a Maserati chassis with no body at all. Diecast reveals engine details, resin gives better paint and finer body details. Each have their advantages, your comment fails

Haven't seen a Supra with TMBs, but BBS RS would look okay on them. If I had a Supra, I'd probably rock wheels from Japan though.
