I've always been curious about how people originally found the DX Forum. :confused :confused

I myself found it quite accidentally back in Sept 2003. I had been posting infrequently on the automotiveforums.com (diecast section) for few weeks when the server seemed unable to keep up with traffic. I guess I saw the "server busy" message once too many times & I did a google search looking for other diecast forums. I ended tripping across this site and as they say, the rest is history.

:DXgreat

So feel free to share your stories (especially the newer folks)! :cheers :cheers

I did not find it but DX found me and inform me about this forum and ask me to be a member. To say true, as you know, this is the best diecast forum I know and I am glad I am here.

I was scouring the internet looking for a forum on diecast motorcycles. I came across a sub forum on the mad4models site. One of the members mentioned this site as some of the members collected bikes.

When I joined there was no Motorcycles section yet. I mentioned to Darrick that it would be cool if there was a m/c section in a PM and next thing I know we have a Motorcycle Forum. I was simply amazed and so very happy! :danbanna

The guys here are just great and lurking in the other forums is slowly convincing me to add to my meager 4 car collection.

:DXgreat

Thanks to everyone for making this site the way it is!

I think I heard about it before the forum even opened up :confused
I was visiting another new diecast forum at that time and it wasn't going anywhere so I watched this one for a few days and saw more posts than the other one had in a couple of months.
So I joined up :happy

Joe Tacket (McLaren F1) had posted a messages about the DiecastXchange on Scale18 a year ago. I decided to check it out and I'm very glad I did. At the time I joined there was very little activity but I thought I give it a chance anyway.

Very quickly responses started, mainly just between a handful of us. Word must of got out fast because in a short time diecast collecters started flooding in.

I am so glad to be part of this community, you guys and gal have become a big part of my life. :cheers

Some of these responses sure do bring back memories of when DX was just getting out of the starting blocks.

Glad all of you found it and are enjoying your stay here. :cheers
