Just when HWE Ferrari products were getting more and more popular, this happens. I was really hoping that HWE would still produce the Ferrari California T before ending their partnership. Oh well, at least the 458 Speciale and LaFerrari will still be produced. Due to the exclusivity of the brand, I feel like Ferrari might end up being produced only by higher end brands such as BBR or MR. Hopefully that is not the case because I'm still a fan of the prancing horse. I'm looking at you Norev or Kyosho :hope:

There's no source saying that they will end their partnership. Where did they get the news from?

Yeah, nothing said on the HWE page. I am not sure if this is accurate, but I hope it is NOT. Hot Wheels has been making very affordable Ferrari models for years and they do a great job doing so. Who ever takes on Ferrari next will more than likely sell them for a much higher price.

The greatest bang for your buck in 1/18 models might be at an end.

Pretty sad news if it's true.

I can't see Kyosho or CMC picking it up, it'll more likely go to a 'cheaper' manufacturer like Paragon or Norev :twocents:

If its true you can say goodbye to $100ish Ferrari models. If Ferrari remains w/o Mattel's license all you will be seeing in the future are sealed models.

Sad indeed if true but hopefully this mean we will see some Porsche's, Aston's, Bimmers, Lambo's, and other great stuff from HWE that we have had to turn to Kyosho and PMA for.

I guess Paragon would not be bad. They would be the best case scenario.

Looks official to me.
Sad, as others have said HWE were probably the best bang for buck models out there. The LaFerrari looks amazing and will be an fantastic and fitting swansong for the pairing.

I'm sort of hoping kyosho don't get the full licence as their models have been severely lacking lately. 355 being a good example, especially at 230.
I hate to say this but AUTOart will probably get it. I would like to see an AUTOart LaFerrari though.

And to those who say CMC should get it, well if they do then they will only make Ferraris from 1950 and earlier. Lol

Only Kyosho... please.... Autoart would price them at 500USD. Paragon and Norev are too toyish.

Actually the recently released Kyosho's 365 GTB is $250+ for a model that will likely have QC and paint issues. I'm all for Autoart getting it, but at the same time I hope they put an end to the stupid exclusive license practice.

I hope AUTOart don't get !! They already charge enough for their models as it is!!  If they start doing Ferrari's, they'll be £200 easily.

Paragon is not more boyish than HWE. Kyosho would be fine, but I do not see them lowering the price. They will continue with the big prices even though they have the license.

Another game changer would like to see Welly GTA line gets the license. Their recent releases are quite convincing and priced about the same as HWE.

I used to buy Kyosho M BMW models, then Paragon, and I can´t even compare them... i think Eite models are much better than the Paragon. I would rather see GTA (Welly) doing them.

I've never owned a paragon (might change if they do the gold M4) but the only thing that I see wrong with them is their wheels look crap. Too plastic looking. Apart from that they don't seem too bad.

I don't want kyosho to have the licence. Look at the state on the 355!!! And it'll probably disintegrate withing 2 years.

GT Autos or whoever it is who does that really good model of the Huayra should get it.

If it's true it's bad news. I have to pick up a HWE 458 speciale as soon as it appears. Wouldn't like to miss that one.

Sad news imho, I loved seeing the HWE Ferrari's.. Why would Hotwheels don't want to produce any more Ferrari's? The only reason must be that the profit is not there?
I hope for all you die hard Ferrari collectors that a reasonable manufacturer will get it. Same buck same bang :occasion14:

Has to be autoart or kyosho, we need some great quality ferraris. Yes HWE is a good effort but dog legs and half windows drive me mad. For me this isn't bad news but I appreciate the price point people talk about, however I don't mind paying more for a great model.... but that's just me! Plus im a big believer that there is always a deal to be had on any model.

I feel the same way. HWEs are nice, but honestly they just don't impress me. I would prefer to pay more for better models.

I am hoping AUTOart get it, because I won't buy a Kyosho until the paint rash issue is solved.

Be careful what you wish for Autoart+Ferrari=$500, that is unless you enjoy having a second mortgage, job, or both. :gaah: :dunno:
HWE are the perfect blend of quality and price IMO, if they leave the hobby, they might take me with them.

I fear we are slowly but surely heading towards a 1/18 diecast world that features only autoart and that scares the shit out of me. :mad2: :bawling:

For those who prefer 500 dollar resin models this is not an issue, but I feel the overwhelming majority of collectors will suffer if we lose HWE :twocents:

IMHO that's the worst news ever for this hobby. Kyosho's paint will degrade shortly after unboxing and AUTOart will charge $350+ What a shame. By far the best diecast value. This is a great opportunity for Hotwheels to start producing other marques!

Sad to hear this news, but some mixed feelings. I wonder if Spark will get the license, since they are doing the other F1 models in 1:18 resin, they might get Ferrari as well. My instinct says its Kyosho though, the only other mainstream manufacturer Ferrari have dealt with in the recent past. Kyosho would not be my preference. Autoart is too plasticky and expensive these days. Shame that HotWheels  did not continue with Ferrari (or maybe the other way around).
