A couple of further QC issues for Otto.

Major issue are the vents on the bonnet up by the windscreen washers

About half are ok, the rest look terrible as though they've been filled in by a felt tip pen!

In addition the left side of the windscreen is starting to lift (a simple fix with glue though)

The right side of the bonnet has slight lifting of the paint but probably tolerable (v diff to photograph with this budget camera).

What do you guys reckon?

Every time I look at the bonnet, those vents make me sad. :(

I'll email Otto and see what their response is.

The vents on the bonnet seems pretty common, they never really get them spot on. Having said that, lifting windows is pretty common too.
From memory do did not get it directly from them? so they may say no to a replacement, but you should still ask them.

Good lord, I'd say I'm lucky to never have bought a resin model. I've also heard of parts falling off and clattering inside the sealed interior. I'd say return it as the windscreen is bound to get worse and so is the paint. As for the "vents", how hard is it to get those right and how did they even pass QC?

New model received today - much better QC on this one!

Credit to Otto, but as above, am surprised the first model got through their QC.

That's great news!!

Sadly though, I'm not surprised about the QC, I've had a fair few with tons of excess glue on them.
Plus some of the E39 M5 models they churned out were a complete joke! I had several of them due to random paint chips etc. Plus on the Blue ones some had the M5 door decals upside down.. and others had models come trashed where the seats etc had smashed through the resin body :wtff:

They did sort them out though & I was not left out of pocket. It was good of them to accept the faults & deal with them.
