That really sucks!  I have the silver Ghost and it is one of my favorite models.  It should be held up as an example of how to build a model, because it is so faithful to the 1:1 in just about every way possible.   The details and the fit and finish are amazing.  However, paint rash is all too common on Kyoshos, and I have several deteriorating BMW models that serve as proof.  I was a huge fan of the Kyosho DE series, and I also really like Bangle-era BMWs (I know that puts me in a minority).  However, I am thinking about selling most of if not all of my Kyosho BMWs while they are still worth something to other collectors.  It's a shame to hear that the paint process hasn't been improved for these RR models, especially given the high price point.  I am currently thinning out and refocusing my collection, so perhaps I should consider letting this one go, too.

Darn!!! :omg:  I have to go and check on my Kyoshos..maybe it's the foam packaging that is causing this reaction? :dunno:  My poor individual BMW 7er has it on the roof now... :bawling: and I thought that the diecast gods shined down onto my collection! :gaah:

Meh. I'm getting them anyway. Never been bothered by paint rash. It's not visible unless examined up close, especially in black.

Likely not Darren. I have paint rash on all 3 of my 1/12 Kyoshos. But it's very inconspicuous on a 1/12, so I wouldn't be worried.

That sucks!! Kyosho loves customers who support their business practices still and I used to be one of them but I am done. The worst part is I looked at a bunch of the cheap Veneno models they just did in a shop and the paint was perfect on those. SO they can do it they just are not concerned with it. I emailed them about it and their nonchalence was insulting. Keep throwing your money away is pretty much what I inferred. Autoart has paint quality in spades as does a several other companies so I have no problem moving on, Perhaps GT spirit is in my future.

Real shame. Are you going to return it? The Ghost is otherwise a really really nice model. Some great details and looks great on the shelf (and I think the Phantom looks even better).

I've just checked my Kyosho Phantom & Ghost...both look ok at the moment. Hope it stays that way :hope:

Nope, I did exchange for the Acropolis Subaru Impreza 2005 WRX STi 1:18 Autoart with a friend...
I hoped the model is all black but it is more gun metall than black :( I had good plans with the model, but....
