I tried a few times repairing uncleared plastic parts.. You can't help it. I just removed one layer of paint and nothing else..
In this case I think the top and the windshields are separate pieces. But it might still be true what you said. I guess I will live with the scratches to prevent further damages to the model as I am very inexperienced...

Actually I was thinking about using the caps of my eyeglass screwdrivers as the tips.
They would have been nearly perfect and would give the Bullitt a more aggressive look than factory but that would involve some possibly messy gluing as they are very heavy compared to the refill.
