Last two years I've got all grails except the one and the last - Exoto Le Mans winning Sauber C9. And for sure that is an aim #1 for an upcoming year.
Best regards, Evgeny.

not sure I have any particular one.... but I guess any GMP, Exoto (Or Biante now as well) serieal #0000, the *missing* Diecast number!  I guess pre-productions, samples, prototypes (I don't mean any race car without a race livery in white/black/red style prototype) and any 1 off never made it to market cars (cause of copyrights or lack of approval)

I guess right now, GMP's Pork Chop Plymouth Road Runner (the gray primered one), Scarelane Ford Fairlane (the red primered one) and AutoArt's 1973 Ford XB Falcon Mad Max 1 conversion (not the Road Warrior) with front bumper, badges on side, interior tweaks (which I can get if I had the money to buy a car/have a guy I know do the conversion)

If I could fill my cabinet with any 1/18 models regardless of price, I'd go with blue cars from different countries, racing series, body styles, and engine sizes, but all with opening details. I can fit 2 cars on each of my 6 shelves, and so this is what I'd get:

1971 Autoart Ford Falcon XY GTHO rothmans blue
1985 Biante Holden Commodore VK Brock SS blue

1967 Autoart Shelby Mustang GT500 blue
1999 Autoart Nissan Skyline R34 GTR V-Spec II bayside blue

2011 Autoart Porsche 911 997 GT3 4.0 blue
2010 Autoart Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4 turquoise blue

2001 Autoart BMW M3 E46 laguna seca blue
2010 Minichamps Ford Focus RS blue (silver wheels)

1992 Exoto Williams FW14B Nigel Mansell
1998 Autoart Mercedes CLK GTR Original Teile

1999 Autoart Subaru Impreza WRC Richard Burns Tour de Corse
2006 Carlectables Ford Falcon BA FPR Mark Winterbottom

I'm sure it's out there somewhere Craig, might have to break into the AutoArt factory and steal it, but there is at least one pre-production model in there!

2. Exoto Chaparral 2D because it's pretty and a Chaparral. Special mention to the non-existing 1:18 Chaparral 2J, because the real machine is insane.

I bought the Autoart D type a while back - but haven't opened it yet - just in case I work out how to justify paying the $1300 for the Exoto D type.

Recently managed to pick up a pretty mint AUTOart NSX in Formula red that I missed years ago when it was released.
Took me a while to find one at a decent price, was quite lucky that I found a somewhat local seller too.

Now, I need to find an AUTOart Zonda R Nurburgring and GMP P4 330 prototype in red.
Those will burn big holes when I find them though...

Minichamps BMW M1 Kenwood Pro Car
Exoto 1966 Chevy Corvette Stingray (blue livery)
AutoART Jaguar D-Type Championship (because Exoto costs too much lol)
Exoto Shelby Cobra Daytona (one really pretty livery)
ONE CMC model.

Hmm..... Well I didn't get the Kenwood. I did get the Jagermeister, looked at it twice and sold it a few months later. Just another thing I learned about my tastes.

The Exoto Corvette was not obtained for I bought a Yatming I mistook for one. No sense in getting another Corvette since it can be modded to look similar to the Exoto.

I take back what I said about the Exoto D-Type. This one will be the top of the line Grail for me, probably from now until forever unless something even more tight comes along. The AutoART has been scratched off the list.

I've come across a few tempting moments where I could have snagged the Exoto Daytona, but eventually I stall long enough to find something else to put my money towards instead.

As for the CMC.... Well, I didn't have any plans on looking into any particular model, but opportunity knocked and here I have a Maserati Birdcage in the dwelling.

To make some adjustments to the list:

1) Exoto Jaguar D-Type (most likely some short-nose with a livery).
2) (Unconfirmed) Minichamps BMW 320i Gr.5 Roy Lichtenstein.
3) (Unconfirmed) Ignition Nissan Fairlady Z S30 (dark blue with Watanabe wheels).
4) (Unconfirmed) Spark Aston Martin Vantage GT3 2013 Macau VLT livery. Super cool and unique car. Livery hits close to home. So little people know about this car making it an attractive piece for me.
5) (Unconfirmed) CMC Maserati Birdcage. Will have an answer after photographing it.

I've been pretty fortunate in obtaining nearly every Holy Grail I've lusted for, so it's time to create a new list. This is my top ten, in no particular order (all 1/18th diecasts except for the BBR Corvette). The ones with asterisks (*) I actually had and sold :gaah: :

AUTOArt:
#11 Richie Ginther Honda RA272 F1 (w/driver figure), 1965 Mexican GP Winner

BBR:
#64 Oliver Gavin/Tommy Milner/Jordan Taylor Chevrolet Corvette C7R, 1st LM GTE PRO 2015 Le Mans
#4 Maurice Trintignant/Jose Froilan Gonzalez Ferrari 375 Plus, 1954 Le Mans 24-Hour Winner

Carousel 1:
#9 Dan Gurney AAR Eagle-Weslake V-12 F-1, ’67 German GP fastest lap *

Exoto:
#4 Phil Hill Ferrari 156 “Sharknose”, 1961 Belgian GP Winner
#66 Jim Hall Chaparral 2E, 2nd place 1966 Laguna Seca Can-Am *
#62 Stefan Johansson/Mauro Baldi AEG Sauber-Mercedes C9, 1988 Spa 1000-Km. Winner *
#63 Stanley Dickens/Manuel Reuter/Jochen Mass Sauber-Mercedes C9, 1989 Le Mans 24-Hour Winner

GMP:
#21 Ludovico Scarfiotti/Mike Parkes Ferrari 330P4 Berlinetta, 2nd place 1967 Le Mans 24-Hour

Minichamps:
BMW Museum Edition 1/18th #21 (should be #41) Peter Gregg/Brian Redman BMW 3.0 CSL Frank Stella Art Car, 1976 Le Mans 24-Hour *

Replicarz:
#4 Johnny Rutherford Pennzoil Chaparral 2K (“Yellow Submarine”), 1980 Indy 500 Winner

Do you think it will ever be possible to see both the 2D and the 2J produced?  Those are my holy grails, and have been for the past 11 years.  I was in hopes TSM might get the go ahead to produce them in 1/18th scale a few years back, but that has yet to be seen, or will never materialize.  I hope also hope in the near future that Replicarz will produce the Chaparral 2K, Indy car a.k.a. "Yellow Submarine" even though it would be cast in resin which I would be O.K. with.
