I just received my Blue GT Autos Huayra, model looks great and overall im very happy with it.

There is a few small marks over the carbon areas tho, where it looks hazy, and a small scratch over the wheel arch, haven't noticed the same things with other members Huayra photo's.

Strange thing is the model was New, but it had definately been opened before as the tape on the side of the styrofoam was cut and the sticky backing film on the 'Horacio' side decals had already been removed.

Just took a quick pic of the main problem area:

On the second pic where the carbon wraps around the wheel arch is very rough too,

Is it just me being picky, as the rest of the model all seems fine.

Try using a 1:1 car detailer with a microfiber cloth, maybe it'll rub out.
Wellys qc is a bit dodgy sometimes, you get what you pay for. Hopefully they should improve this weak area and put more models out.

Thanks for your reply, I did try some polish on it, as the rest of the paint was a bit rough so i polished the whole car which improved the paint but didn't seem to help any on the carbon areas.

I have heard of other members saying QC is a bit dodgy too, it is a great model for the price!

I had the whitw one and sold it recently to fund other purchases. I was very impressed by their effort, this blue one is on my wishlist too.

Hope to see lots of pictures from you soon!

Congrats on your new purchase! :eusa_clap: but maybe it was returned by a customer and then sent out again to someone in hopes that would be less critical? :dunno: I would return it and make a complaint about that!! :occasion14:

Yeah, me too. If I get something that bugs me & it's a new release I'll sleep on it (not literally) and then decide the next day.

Basically, that what I do as well, but if I have to think too much about it, then bye bye!!! :gaah:

I got it from ebay member 'Kraitish'  it was an auction that i won which was a little cheaper than anywhere else and i wanted really wanted one so i bid.

Ebay item No. ( 311524573750 )

I have since messaged him, and he said he confirmed he opened the box to take photo's of the model which from the pictures it does seem like mine and the carbon defects are from the factory.

He also offered to send the model back for a refund, but i haven't decided what to do yet.

I thought I was a picky collector but you just knocked off me. :nice: I'd live with those minor issues.

I have the white one and although i'm very happy with it overall, the carbon decal is peeling slightly in a few places, but it's not very noticeable. Other than that it's great.

Ah ok, they're a big seller. If he can replace it, do that ? If not, I'd go for a refund & buy somewhere else.

I've just had a red one delivered and the issue is with Welly. They have wrapped the model on a tissue base and it stuck to the fresh paint on mine. I'll post some pics.
I'm going to polish it out and let you guys know how I get on...

Yea you're right, i had a replacement delivered and the tissue has stuck to the carbon areas in a couple of places again, stupid how they can't wait for the paint/lacquer to dry.

Have you had any success in polishing the affected areas out?

would like to see some pics.

I had great results polishing the affected area using a 3 compound grit set made by Zero Paints and bought from Hiroboy here in the UK.
I just masked off the model using Tamiya tape and got polishing.
