I would like to thank everyone who took the time to participate in the survey/poll as I know it was a little time consuming with 68 questions.

The reason and results for this survey/poll is strictly for the members to paint a better picture of the community here at DX. Being that we have well over 1,000 members and average of 30 votes per question, this isn't by far comprehensive, but it offers us a picture, which is better than no picture at all. The results will not be sold or distributed to any third party, the results will remain in the open forums for all forum members to view.

This survey was broken down into 4 parts which include:
*DiecastXchange
*Members Collections and Habits
*Internet usage
*Personal

DX hopes to have a 2005 survey/poll in which we can compare the 2004 results to and see how things have changed and everyone has grown as a collector.

Thanks everyone for making the time to reply to the DX Survey.  It really gives a good idea of the sort of collectors we have on the forum.

Darrick - you've done an amazing job in designing that survey and compiling the data.  :nicejob  :nicejob  :nicejob

Reason why 1:43 scale cars aren't that popular because most people including me(sorry it I offend) consider them toys and not Collectable model cars. .

Should you collect 1:43?

In my opinion, no if you can afford 1:18 models. First of all, most people will think of them as toys, while 1:18 models can look as something classy if you have a few.

Thank You for doing the census Darrick!

It was a bit heavy going :giggle  , but i enjoyed it!  My favourite part was reading the replies members had posted. It proves that although we all share a common interest, in most cases we have very different ideas on collecting!
It also gave an insight in to personal situations/family life, something that you wouldn't normally discuss on DX. Being nosey as I am, it made entertaining reading :giggle  .

I'm looking forward to the next one!

:cheers

The only problem with the survey is that it was up for a little longer than a week, it should have been up a little longer.

The poll inquiring about members interest generated over 60 votes showing interest, and that poll was up for approximately a month.

Next time around it will posted a little earlier that way members will have more than enough time to get their votes in.

I never got a chance to get to the census poll, so I guess that's why it says you guys are 100% Male....well, I'm sure you are all 100% male :giggle , but hey, I'm here, fellows. Little ole me...100% Female....

Seriously, maybe we can leave it up a little longer next time.....
