I bought this model because the seller knew that passenger's door was broken and made me a huge discount.
When I opened the box, I found exactly what he stated: a broken door hinge and the mirror ripped off, but when carefully inspecting the model I found several bubbles on the paint and driver's door not sitting flush to the body.

I suspect a metal fatigue on the body, can you please help me with the sentence? Here it is a shared Drive folder with several photos https://drive.google...bG51WFRmbml6Z2s

Thank you

I remember reading a couple of years ago on DX itself about these models deteriorating right out of the box. I have been tempted to get these handsome cars but the bad metallurgy has turned me off. Sorry to see your troubled Astra.

Yes most if not all Action Astra DTM have this problem. Im afraid that is indeed zinc pest. I have a few Astra that have the same problem.

Check out my custom works at Technica's Portfolio.

After a little pressure the broken door split in half, so it's definitely metal fatigue.

I won't repair the model, so the only thing worth doing is putting it back in its box and waiting until I need spares, right?

Yep, sadly it has a severe case of 'diecast cancer' yep, there's nothing you can do with it apart from use it for spares, or modify something you already have :twocents:
