Indeed! I love that it does not have the starship troopers swoops and curves and angles everywhere that modern hypercars have adopted.

That has to be the most beautiful Ferrari in the last 20 years; it looks taut and svelte like a supercar should.. :drool5:

There seems to be mixed emotions about the 812 Superfast. What are the opinions of the Ferrari J50? Limited to 10 units to celebrate 50 years of Ferrari in Japan, and built on the 488 platform. Again, the new styling direction for Ferrari is evident in this model too. I like it, how about you?

IMO, this and 812 both looks okay, but doesn't feel like a Ferrari. It's unlike Pininfarina designed car which feels hi-tech (such as 599 b-pillar 'winglet', F12 front fender vent), elegant, but very clean lines throughout the car. This new Ferraris, along with LaFerrari to that matter, which is designed by Ferrari themself, looks too busy. It doesn't necessarily a bad thing, just different. Maybe in time this will grow in me, but until now, the 2013 LaF still my least favorite Ferrari flagship in term of design. It's been 5 years since I saw that car, it still doesn't grow enough in me, so I don't know about this one. :twocents:

I actually like it a lot! I was hoping that Bburago would make this one in 1/18th scale..but now that BBR is back on Ferrari, I hope they'll make in in opening diecast! :yahoo:

BBR made a model of Eric Claptons 1 off, but this car has way more significance, so I would assume BBR will make this, but you never know.

Really nice! I'd buy a BBR one if they decided to do it, I have the Eric Clapton car already.

Now this J50 car has a presence that is not like any other. The nose, tail, and wrap around windscreen are refreshing. Either the wheelbase looks shorter than normal or perhaps the side profile being fatter / taller makes it appear that way.

IMO: The engine bonnet does have a similar line to the Porsche 918 though (minus the exhaust ports)...

Overall, a nice twist.....

To me the J50 is a return to the clean Ferrari design that defined the F50, definitely hoping to seeing it made in scale.  They've hit it out of the park in my opinion - and it's become my favorite Ferrari of this century by a long shot.

The 812, by contrast, just doesn't do it for me at all.  Has some really neat details, a well-resolved rear end and an awesome interior, but mostly the individual features aren't cohesive and the car looks forced and overstyled, with a wasp-like face - though somehow still less vulgar than the F12tdf.

I'd like to see more of the understated elegance we saw in the 550/575M.  Those things still look fresh today.

I liked a lot, I think a hard top version also would have been nice! I think is the best design in the last ferrari cars.
