I didn't say that I do not like the corvette, I like it..... :nice:. All I was saying is that the fender and roof line mimic the new vett. If you painted a new Z06 red and put Ferrari badges on it you would have a clone.

Ferrari must have been paying homage to the Vette for beating their butt in endurance racing over the last several years (smile).

To me its not a total refreshing design, but it does not look bad either.... I believe the various vents are to aide in downforce and air management.

A new SP version of the LaFerrari.
I know I probably shouldn't post it here, but not sure if it's worth a new thread. I quite like the symmetric flow lines, not so sure about the headlights though. If they want minimalistic design, they should put a curved LED line, which fits better with the curvy body, not such a straight line.

Indeed there are some design ? on this one, but i guess there is so much focus on the wind tunnel fine tuning that dictates the final body design. Like every new design, at first we question why and have mixed feelings, but come around to like or love it. For me the 458 Italia is just stunning, and when the 488 was unveiled, i hated the split side vents. To me it ruined the beautiful hip line of the 458. But the 488 has grown on me, and having the 488GTB, Spider and now the GTE  in model form, looking at them every day, i like it. So the 812 Superfast will probably be like that. It will grow on you!

The 812 Superfast still isn't stirring my emotions like the F12 did upon first sight.

Give it time Eric :giggle: :giggle:

I like the front and rear, its interesting but for me personally Ferrari shouldn't have even stated its derived from the F12. The F12 was a beauty and that was that. The design made eloquent sense.

They should have just stated: The 812 superfast is a new ferrari with 800hp!! We stole some older designs, smashed in some new ideas and came up with this. Then we'd all go  :drool5: :drool5: :drool5:

I am not sure they even needed this new car, the F12 was still selling well and offered plenty more performance than even an Aventador.

Is there a Ferrari that has received instant positive reaction right from the release?

:agreed: Not many people had criticisms of the 458 when it first came out. For me it is the best looking mid engined Ferrari, and I would still choose a used 458 over a fresh 488, if I were ever to be in such a fortunate position.

Good to hear about the 458.
How about the 90's Ferrari's, 456, 550, 360? I didn't pay attention to press' reactions at the time they were released, were they beloved?

I agree.  I really like it, but just not quite as much as the F12berlinetta, which was damn close to perfection in my opinion.  I have the HWE models in Rosso Corsa and Blu Pozzi and I can't bear to get rid of either of them even though I hate having duplicates.  I guess my beef with the 812 Superfast is that it won't age as well as the F12berlinetta, which in my mind is the classiest V12 Ferrari since the Daytona.  The F12 just seemed instantly timeless, while I'd have to wait a lot of years before I could safely say the same thing for the 812.

All of their V12 GT cars after the 575M have been unattractive imo.  I stopped by Ferrari of San Diego a few weeks back and the only Fcar in their entire showroom that caught my eye was the drop dead gorgeous 575...and the Testarossa next to it.  The modern Fcars have lost the look imo.
