Love it when someone sends a cmc through the mail with minimal bubble wrap and brown paper.
The second unwrapped box is for reference.

No real damage but a hood pin came loose.  Strangely I barely touched a mirror and it broke off at the stem.   Hmm.  I have already fixed it  but that was  odd.   I barely tapped it. Prior repair?  Degraded metal?   Good news is that this model appears to have zero zinc pest.
The guy didn't know how to clean.  The dust on the suspension looks like ear wax.   Ugh.

I would NEVER pack a model this way.   I have sold tons of stuff and I'd like to think my packing is nearly bulletproof.  When I complained and made a suggestion, here was his response.... I didn't ask for compensation but he didn't offer either.    Tempted to leave neutral feedback.  Granted the model was only 150 Canadian but still....

'Thank you for letting me know this and for your understanding. I am not aware that the model had been repaired for anything. The mirror certainly fell off during transport, the model was fine when I packaged it. Few years ago, I also received a CMC model that was badly broken, presumably during transport. I should have been more careful. They are fragile, yes, but also build with brittle material, I think'

Note.  The unwrapped model box is for size comparison.

Wow thats a cheap way to pack an expensive model! 150$cad is a really good price but its not a good reason to pack without protection

I've moved this here as it's more appropriate, although it's not really a disaster, just poor packing.

The price was a damn sweet deal, but it annoys me when sellers don't use actual boxes!

Great price for 0% pest - nice one Wilbo! :10:   Agreed that poor packing, but the seller guy didn't really maximise on the deal, don't you think? :twocents:

Ok thanks Craig. I didn't know where to put it.    In any case yes 150 cdn plus shipping is a good deal but I still gave him a neutral.

Funny enough this wasn't the worst packing I'd seen. Years ago some guy from Australia simply wrote my address on the white outer model box of a 1:18 Moffat Coca Cola mustang and shipped it that way.    Not cool

Awesome packing indeed. Not even cardboard, but brown paper.....Posted Image

Lately i bought a Lego set (new, unopened, set from few years ago).
Box arived in a similar way, in brown paper, but the paper taped/glued TO the box.
So far for giving this set to a nephew as a birthday present......

Sticking a giant non-removable (without damage) pricetag on the box when you take it to the fleamarket is also a :gaah:
