Hello everyone, I used to post on this board a lot about a year ago but then I started getting into the street racing scene and getting into trouble. I lost my license and almost lost my car all my money was being dumped into my Mustang but now I have come back to my true passion, Diecast. I've seen too many accidents and lost too many friends to not count my blessings and walk away. I know it's been a while but I'm looking to expand my collection past 300 1:18 cars. I also have a big collection of 1:64 mustangs. It's good to be back and the forum looks great. I'm looking forward to posting my additions since my 1 year hiatus. Greetings to all, old and new. Happy collecting.. :wavetowel2:

Please support legitimate diecast dealers
who:
a.) are legal residents of the country they live in,
b.) have a sustainable pricing policy in place (not nickle-over-cost),
c.) offer exemplary customer service, and
d.) have a phone number they answer. If they don't want you to call, there's a reason!

If you commonly order from LA-area eBay sweatshops staffed with foreign transients, you're hurting this hobby!

Welcome back. I used to street race, but it's not the same as it was back then. More times than not the police would watch everyone race. I had a 9 second '70 mustang that I drove on the street. We had many places off industrial roads where there was no traffic and raced out there. Now they just race on everyday roads, and it's crazy. That's what killed the street racing because kids who didn't know how to drive raced on busy streets and brought it to the publics eye. Instead of keeping it way out of the way and off the busy roads. I only race at the track now which is better, but they need more tracks out there.

Welcome back! Glad to see you come out of the "life learning experience" still intact! (That makes me sound old, but trust me, I have had LOTS of them! :giggle: )

Good to have you back! Sounds like getting back into Diecast might be just what you need right now; nothing dangerous about this hobby, unless you're a wallet!

True that! Wallets are an endangered species in this hobby. :giggle: Thanks for the reply.

Yes, this is a much safer past time. I have a 16sec Holden, which is why street racing has never crossed my mind. If you ever feel tempted to get back into the street racing my advice would be to build up a police car themed diecast collection to remind yourself of the consequences of illegal street racing - otherwise go to a few track day meets.

All seriousness aside - its good that you are back and better.

Welcome back! I have to agree with the above...it's definitely safer here than on the street racing roads.
Glad that you're ok and in one piece! Keep on collecting! (300...omg so much lol)

I bet the $ you spend on diecast would be less than what you pumped into your street racer. Glad that you left street racing. We all deserve safer streets.
