Greetings, DX! My name is Matt! My wife and I currently reside in VA Beach. I am working towards completing my master's degree in Theology, and my wife is an elementary school teacher. I am not exactly new to the world of die-cast collecting, but my collection is rather small.

I am a collector, motoring enthusiast, and history buff, so I appreciate accuracy and significant historical detail in die-cast replicas. Specifically, my collection focuses on Porsche, Ferrari, and Ford. I am partial towards replicas produced by Exoto, but I am well aware of the company's semi-infamous reputation.

I've really enjoyed glancing through the forum at the various posts, news, and photos! I'm glad to discover a place such as this that connects me with other motoring enthusiasts around the globe! I am really looking forward to meeting everyone in this virtual community! Thanks!

Thanks for the welcoming.

I am working on my MBS (The Master of Biblical Studies) degree, which is basically designed to prepare me for pastoring a church. I am non-denominational, but my seminary has somewhat of a baptist pedigree. I completed my undergraduate degree at Appalachian Bible College, majoring in pastoral studies/theology.

I realize that I was somewhat ambiguous by simply saying, "Theology" but there are so many different churches, denominations, and religious affiliations out there, so I tried to keep it simple in my introduction. I still probably didn't answer your question even now, but hopefully by sharing my educational background that it gives you a little bit more of an idea of my "specialization."

Hi and welcome to the site, Matt! Posted Image
Justin

Please support legitimate diecast dealers
who:
a.) are legal residents of the country they live in,
b.) have a sustainable pricing policy in place (not nickle-over-cost),
c.) offer exemplary customer service, and
d.) have a phone number they answer. If they don't want you to call, there's a reason!

If you commonly order from LA-area eBay sweatshops staffed with foreign transients, you're hurting this hobby!

Well done on adding the Ferrari 156 to your collection. I hope you took advantage of a recent sale.

I'm in the Northern Virginia area, 45 minutes from Washington DC.

I used to love going down to VA beach for beach week. I don't go to the beach as much as I used to anymore, had a really bad jelly fish incident.

Interesting! I'm possibly looking to take a job near the DC area (Alexandria, VA), but not for certain yet. As for the beach, it's always so crazy down here that my wife and I can't even enjoy the beach like we want to and we're only 5-10 minutes from the coast. We like VA, but not so much VA Beach.

Yes, I took advantage of a coupon! I wouldn't think of paying full price for their models - they're way too expensive otherwise, especially the XS series. I will give credit where credit is due, the model is extraordinary.

Welcome to DX, Matt! As another Exoto aficionado, I welcome a fellow fan to the flock. My small collection of 40-some models is also dominated by that brand (15 Exotos so far) and I too have always taken advantage of their many sales (and eBay, of course) to avoid ever paying list price for them.

Welcome to this great site and beware, for you will lose your soul viewing some of these incredible collections!
