If it's compatible/adaptable with tracking collections of any kind, not just diecasts, I'm sure there'd be a market for it.
That's something I've thought about doing. If nothing else I've also considered making versions tailored to aircraft, military, etc.

On the advice of my brother I have started using this program. I used to do the old Excel spreadsheet thing but this is SO much better, thank for your hard work.

Not sure what to say about that - haven't heard this from anyone else or seen it myself. What anti-virus program are you using? Adobe released an update to the AIR runtime recently, have you downloaded that? Maybe your AV program saw that the AIR runtime was out of date and removed it?

Unfortunately, no. Would you mind filling out this form on Symantec's site since I don't have all of the details of your situation?
https://submit.syman...security_risks/

It looks like they will take a look at the application so see what could be causing the problem.

This time I really am done with the program. It does everything I need so I don't plan on adding any more features and I'm not aware of any bugs beyond what are listed in the Known Issues in the user manual.

As long as Adobe keeps supporting AIR I imagine the program should continue to run fine.

The only way would be to use the export option to create a .csv file. You could then print that file.

Hi Douglas

Thank you for the information.

One more question: Everytime I need to add a file (figure most of time) my Windows Vista inform that the DieCast Database stops to work and close the program.
Any suggestion to solve this problem ?

Thank you in advance

Marcio - I have not heard of this problem before. Can you provide the exact error message? A screen shot would be very helpful.

You can modify any of the lists (manufacturers, etc.) by choosing Preferences and selecting the Lists tab (it's all in the documentation   :wavetowel2: )

Thinking about doing an iphone or droid app for your database?  Would love to just take a pic and automatically type out a few things and have it inserted into the database without ever having to turn on my computer.  There's a diecast app on there right now but not sure what to think of it.
I've thought about it but I doubt this will happen; not enough time to figure out how to re-create functionality in Objective-C (and learn it), C++, or JavaScript. When Adobe announced the ability to create iOS apps from Flash Builder I thought this would be the way to do it but, alas, Steve doesn't like Flash.

This is great! I'm really looking forward to using this. The only thing I wish it had was a spot at the bottom where it showed dollars spent/sold. The Analyzing feature it great but sometimes a running total is all I'm interested in.
I've considered adding this before and it would be pretty easy. I've added it to my to do list for the next version.

Hey All,
Just wanted to show some appreciation to Doug for helping me out with the DCDB program he wrote.  My laptop died and thought I would have to manually input everything back into DCDB on my new laptop.  Doug hooked me up with a way to pull the info off my old laptop (I pulled the HD to get everything off of it) and drop it into the new laptop.  His solution worked and saved me hours of having to reinput all the models into a fresh load of DCDB!!!

Thanks!

I looked at your software and the problem that I have with it is that it's hard to enter a pic of the item.  I guess I was spoiled by the ease of entering artwork into iTunes, it's just a copy/paste operation.

To add a picture all you need to do is drag and drop a file (or files) into the image browser section (right-hand side) of the item details. Pretty easy.
