Hello, Everyone -

Well, it looks like we're back in the swing of producing The Car Room Magazine again - and it's about time. We've been extremely busy getting every aspect of The Car Room ready, for print, for the web, and for television.

Because we are a small publication - no corporate safety net to fall into - we had to make the decision to follow this path knowing full well that it would bring production of the magazine to a halt for a time. Now that time has passed - and number nine is in full production. Clay Miller is designing, the writers are sending in their text, and we're once again happily burning the midnight oil to bring you the goods. We anticipate the magazine's arrival at your doors to occur in mid-late April, and then every other month after that. Subscribers will get EVERY issue they have coming - and we think that our readers will like what they see. Check this out:

PRINT: More than ever before, the models covered inside the pages will have a direct connection to additional, searchable text and photos on the Car Room web site (a subscriber-only feature, in some cases), and, for "special" cars, we'll have a produced, model-exclusive "Playing With Cars" video ready to watch. Each article will have a link to the videos, when applicable. There will be full-view "fly-bys" of some models, full video reviews of others. A great majority of the cars appearing in print will be models that were featured on "Car Room LIVE!" (Saturdays at 7PM Eastern / www.thecarroom.com/tv), and we will have a show synopsis of every episode, as well as a timeline index, for each of the shows. That will make finding a video review for a specific model you're reading about easy. As always, the photography will be the main attraction, and the text will be geared toward the serious adult collector, and it will include everything from the smallest scales and "impulse" buys to mega-buck museum models. We'll be the same high-quality publication in hand, only now, those printed words and photos will merge with the Internet for a full-on model collecting experience.

INTERNET: The new Car Room Site will grow by the day as we get closer to the finalization of every issue. Thanks to the efforts of Ralph Riccardi and Jeff Glasson, the archived episodes of "Car Room LIVE!" will be available, on demand, in high quality video, with each appearing on our site approximately a week after broadcast. Special, web-only articles will be made available for viewing, with some content being reserved for subscribers only. As we finish episodes of "Playing With Cars", they'll appear on the site, and on our Facebook and Youtube pages. We'll be adding to our "Model Minute" segments, where we'll be reviewing model products and give maintenance and collecting tips (for newbies as well as established collectors). In addition to our existing coverage of industry shows and interviews with people like Chip Foose, Fireball Tim, Tom Daniel and others, we will continue our support of all of the message boards and collector forums that have been so vital to our growth, with cross-links and promotions, announcements, and special events. We also have a few, as yet unannounced tricks up our sleeves (I can't give away ALL the info, LOL!).

But we can tell you this: Thanks to the efforts of Jeff Glasson and Clay Miller, as of this issue, The Car Room Magazine will also be made available as a digital download for subscribers. We just set this up; when it's in full swing, you'll be able to download the magazine to your computer (and iPad, etc.), to enjoy whenever you'd like - in addition to the print version, of course. We will also offer digital-only subscriptions for those readers who wish them, as well as single-issue sales of the magazine in the digital domain. I've been playing with the software for hours, now, and it's pretty amazing - you can even click on text and articles to go to other sites, retailers, and model manufacturers' pages on the web. It's incredible what's available now.

TELEVISION: As you've probably heard, we've been developing a TV show. We're still at it. We realized that in order to reach new collectors, we'd have to expand beyond print - and we are. The focus of the "treatment" has changed to personally include collectors - as well as locations around the country. Ralph Riccardi, Eric Frietas, Mike Zarnock, Jeff Glasson, Frank Quarant, and all of the CRM crew will be featured as we roll forward. Look for some advance clips of the show to appear sometime this Summer. We're extremely pleased with the response we've gotten - and we think that this will go far to bring the hobby we all love out into the American and International public.

Sorry for the long read. It's been a stressful few months, but we know that you'll enjoy the end result. Casey and I have been extremely lucky to have such talented, dedicated friends around us who love The Car Room as much as we do. They have given huge amounts of their time to us, and thanks to them, we're finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel.

Thank you ALL for being a part of that light.

LONG LIVE THE LITTLE CARS!

Gratefully Yours,

Joe
