We're now accepting nominations for April's Photo of the Month. Please read and follow the guidelines!

Photos must be of diecast models, and will be nominated from those posted from the first til the last of the month. These must be "first time posts" - no recycling old pics. You can nominate anyone's shots...don't be shy about nominating yourself. When nominating a photo, include a link to the thread and the pic. However, only one entrant per person will be included in the poll. If more than one pic is nominated, I will choose the one that goes in the poll. Nominations will close at the end of the month, a poll will be set up which will run five days, and the winner will then be announced.

Any pic eligible for the contest must follow the forum guidelines of 800X600, 90 KB. It's not the responsibility of me or the forum staff to adjust the size. If you don't currently have photo manipulation software, I recommend IrfanView which is very easy to use. If you want something more advanced try GIMP, which is a good substitute for Photoshop. Both programs are freely distributable, so you have absolutely no reason not to use them. This is a rigid limit...oversized pics will automatically be rejected without warning...it's not my responsibility to make sure the pics are "legal", it's yours.

Good luck and thank you in advance to all participants.

Nominations end 10th of June 2010

Serious collectors don't buy budget models? Hahahaha...that's the stupidest thing I've ever heard

Good luck all   :lamende:

*EDIT* Whoops.....just realised it was too big http://www.diecastxc...tyle_emoticons/default/dizzy.gif  How can I make it 'smaller' so it fits under the 90kb bracket? I thought acisne was talking about dimensions   :icon_scratch:

try photoshop if you have it, there is an option under Save As and Save that says Save for Web....usually makes it smaller in terms of KB, but less KB also means less picture quality:) i always resize my pictures while uploading them, so somehow they never turn out 90KB:O

btw guys i just added a date for nominations, ima close them in 10 days:)

Seby knows what he's doing, even if John (Mox) and I appear to be confused.

These are nominations for the best picture posted in the month of May. So the pics are supposed to be from May, and the poll will end in June. (Tiago's Gallardo just sneaks in by a hair.)

Uh...sorry to disappoint you guys, but it was Seby and not me who posted April 10 as the closing date for nominations (first post of the thread). He runs this competition, not me. I was just questioning it. mox may not be the sharpest knife in the drawer, but even he knows April is long gone. And for your information, Fast Eddy...I quit huffing gas when they started adding lead to it. Just doesn't smell the same any more.
