Nice additions, you two

I saw that 934 at a store in person, picked it up and twirled it around every which way, and at the end something just kept me from buying it. Something is off about it

Thanks, Dave, Eddy and slarti - I thought so too but the other shoe has dropped. The business owner emailed me upon receiving my PayPal payment to inform me (with pics) that the car is missing the left rear exhaust tip and the left front wire wheel spinner. I'm not thrilled about his way of doing business and I don't have a drawer full of parts from a myriad of long- broken or disposed of models to fix those not-so-minor issues, but for the price I've decided to go for it. Good thing he has no other models of interest because I think that is a bogus way of doing business. Inform potential buyers of the shortcomings of your stock BEFORE getting paid....

UPDATE. I found a cached view of the site's posting of the GTO and it does say (in tiny, light-colored print) "three exhaust tips" and there is a photo showing the missing spinner (if you look closely), though there is no explicit mention of its absence. Guess my eagerness to jump at the price blinded me to the fine print so I can't blame him...completely. But it's still not exactly full disclosure....

Last year at an event in Mondello race circuit I came across a dealer selling scrapped bBurago stuff, including a totally wrecked 1/18th scale 312PB.
This is probably your best source for the missing pieces. It should be possible to get a thrashed GTO for half nothing. It should have what you need.
As an alternative, a length of hobby store aluminium tube can be cut and shaped to replace the exhaust piece, or better still - all four.
Your's is a racer, and if you search the internet you may find the team who ran the car fitted simpler, less expensive exhaust tips.
My #24 car has single pipes exiting under the doors, cutting down on the wight and complexity of the originals. (#22 has the full exhaust).

It doesn't have any roof gutters, and some of the colours the cars ran in make them look 'stumpy'. Some have even suggested the teams cut them off to remove weight.....
However, comparing the Schuco to my 1/12th scale Tamiya version (which has been lauded as right on the money - despite not having the gutters either!) it looks good enough for me.
Of course, when the Minichamps arrives I will have a 1/18th scale alternative for comparison - allowing for the fact that Minichamps don't always get things right.
I will say this though, they have produced the best looking BMW 635 for external shape to my eyes, even if some of the smaller individual details are inaccurate.

I've dealt with this company for many years buying 1/24th scale car kits, and I didn't even know they stocked larger scale 'diecasts'.
I can recommend them as a reliable source for those Asian only specials......

Thanks for the kind words and advice, guys, but now it's a moot point. When I replied to the seller's request to confirm my purchase subject to the flaws in the model, I accepted the transaction and added that I felt his site should more prominently specify each less-than-perfect model's shortcomings IN ADVANCE so the buyer can take that information into account before making the decision to purchase or not. After all, the basic point about the site is that there are no original BOXES, not that the inventory may be damaged or missing parts (the Ferrari in question is labeled "nrmint" by the way, demonstrating how that term is so often misused).

I woke up yesterday morning to emails that unilaterally he had cancelled the sale and refunded my money!

Our intention wasn't to deceive our customers, otherwise we wouldn't have sent you any email explaining the missing parts so you won't be surprised when you get it. I feel like I haven't been to your expectation, and I apologize for that. I just refunded you your money, we appreciate your business and interest in our site.

I was p.o.'d to say the least since that was not his decision to make. But at least I won't be scrounging around to find missing parts. Since he had no other inventory of interest to me, I won't be buying from him again, though I'm probably now on some "do-not-sell" list of his anyway...

Thanks, my friend :occasion14:- that was what I am hoping for. I'm pretty good at digging up bargains and a whiz at last-second sniping on eBay so I have faith that it will happen at an acceptable price point (though I'm not dreaming that a CMC version will fall in my lap for $200 USD - LOL!). And it's important that DX'ers share their positive and negative experiences if it helps other members.

Things might have been different if I had made the buy back when the racing versions of this Kyosho 250 GTO was going for under $140 USD, but can't waste time on what-might-have-beens...

Would you consider making a reduced offer on the GTO to the seller who you were dealing with?
I think I would - these very nice Kyosho GTO models are really decent considering the prices, and then there's the issue of disappearing availability.
Incidentally, Car Model in Italy still have some of them in race trim, and have 10% off until Sunday.
Correction - two choices left, one at €160 - just under twice what I paid for the same model from them 6 months ago.....

Sucky situation since you wanted to accept it anyway, BUT from a seller's standpoint he would have just been opening himself up to get slaughtered with bad feedback, Paypal chargebacks, etc. from a buyer if they were "that kind of person" (even after agreeing to receive the item).

Unfortunately I have been in that situation, where something broke or seemed to magically gain an imperfection after the sale was completed. Being shocked upon final inspection before packing the item, I've emailed folks to let them know. 9 times out of 10 they're OK with it and all is well, but there's always the chance you stand to lose out on time, money, stress, from a buyer who approves of photos you sent them of flaws, then decides to throw a fit anyway. I'd blame people like that more than the seller who is most likely just trying to not further complicate things and risk losing money by being forced to pay to return the item and give a refund, etc. It happens, sadly. I truly do feel bad when things like this happen, and it's happened to me as well as a buyer. So I can understand the feeling the buyer probably has, hopes of getting their item and then - uh oh - there's a problem. It sucks.

If I were him I'd be re-listing it showcasing the flaws and definitely making it BLATANTLY OBVIOUS, and even perhaps at a lower price. Or with allowing offers so a lower price could possibly be bargained. Cover your azz, as they say.
