Okay guys, from this point on I'm slowing down a bit and going to test my fate at modding.  And I mean modding all out, lights, wheels, paint, bodywork etc.  With that said this is what I have gained so far.  This is a beautiful hobby and a rewarding one IMHO.  W/ that said I have wayyyyy too many expensive hobbies.

At first I was only going to do race livery cars, but then I drifted to collecting all the BMW's, but now I'm just going to get what I like on the short list and then keep the BMW's and Mercedes-Benz in mind on the long list when a good deal comes along.

I apologize for the pictures as my ex has my old cybershot and softbox and I really don't think I'm getting them back :( so I just purchased a new cam tonight and will be building a softbox shortly.

Secondly I'm still waiting on a Norev Audi A5 (blue silver), Kyosho BMW E90 330i Sedan (Black), UT BMW E36 M3 GTR Street Car (black), Kyosho BMW M5 (Carbon Black), and AUTOart Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG (Black).

On the short list are an AUTOart S63 AMG (Black), AUTOart CL63 (Black), Minichamps SL65 BS (Black), and a Kyosho SLS AMG (gray), AUTOart Lexus GS430 (Black), AUTOart Lexus IS350 (Black).....I like black cars lol

Once I get my cam in the mail from Ebay I'll post good pics.  BTW I have two Ferrari F430 Coca Cola's as one has some flaws so I'm pulling parts off it and the body is going to be my bodywork practice model lol.

AUTOart Porsche 997 GT3 Penthouse #24
AUTOart Porsche 996 GTS RSR Yokohama #136
Minichamps BMW E30 Blaupunkt DTM
AUTOart Ford Mustang FR500C #05
Ferrari F430 Coca Cola #16 (X2)
Kyosho BMW M6 Coupe
Kyosho E46 M3 GTR
Kyosho E92 M3 Coupe
Kyosho Ferrari 575 GTC JMB Donnington #17
AUTOart Nissan GT-R R35 GT500 Test Car

Here's the pics...mind you nothing you guys haven't already seen before, but I'm excited to be a true part of DXE....now I just need to cough up the small fee for a membership :gaah:

Thanks for the kind words....but like I said I am slowing down now lol.  However I did just buy an Autoart S63 AMG (Black), Kyosho BMW 5 Series (Interlagos Blue), and an Autoart Lexus GS430 (Black).  Gosh...if I could just obtain that CL63 AMG for a good price I'd be happy for awhile.  And maybe that Minichamps RS4....lol

Oh where does it end....someone destroy my Paypal account pleaseeeeee.

BTW I'm trying to figure out the dimensions for a softbox for shooting these 1:18's....any advice appreciated.  Also need to save for a few Deltofs so I can display these things already!

I literally have no good place to put them right now, and being that I'm moving in 3 months, I should probably just wait to see what kind of space I have in the new place.

Thanks again for the kind words!

We have a photog forum here????  Ahhhh how did I miss it.  I've been googling all evening trying to find just the right homemade setup lol.

Thanks for the heads up.  So I found an S63 AMG in black, E350 DE black, and an LS430 in black earlier for cheap....couldn't resist.

Great stuff you got there! I have alot of those Ducati bikes too. Remember that there's not rush to building your collection though..you don't want to spend more than you have to or regret a purchase.

Thanks and I'm fighting the urge lol...it's not easy.  This hobby has taken me by the wallet like no other hobby I've ever been in...whether it be art, guns, cars, etc.

I think what you have to watch out for with this hobby is it CAN BE relatively cheap to get into, but then a $30 purchase here, a $60 there, and so on and before you know it you're deep into it and not much money left in the bank.  EEEK

Built a new photobox and since I don't have a camera that is a DSLR....(kodak point n shoot is what I'm using) I had to do a little post processing.

Got my HWE 360 Modena, HWE 575M, and Hotwheels F355 Berlinetta....Ferrari collection is coming right along.  I'm gonna paint the F430 Italian Red, and I really need to get the 575 test car in the flat red, along with the red liveried car.

Also bought a crap load of supplies for the F40.... Scale Details F40 detail kit (300 pieces w00t w00t), red harnesses, bunch of aluminum tubing and brass tubing of various sizes...lots of new paints, red and black flocking, carbon and kevlar decals, various sizes and colors of wires, and I'm trying to score from Scale Details a set of F40 3pc metal wheels.

Anyways...onto the pics shall we?

Hadn't looked in on this post and maybe I wish I hadn't.  lol    Mannnnn, you have some things I want!  I hope that Minichamps starts making those latest Ducatis.  I have only a few Maisto 1:18 bikes and about 8 Minichamps 1:12.  The Ferrari 599 GTO and the M3 are my two favorites of yours.  I can't shake the fever for that M3...I've gotta have one and I think I'm going to follow your route. :wavetowel2:

Very nice collection.

Thanks bro...one of these days I'll start building my minichamps 1:12 ducati collection.  Holding off on that until I get my 1:1 999S lol.

Secondly...I probably shouldn't tell you this, but I saw a dealer edition pearl white E92 M3 go on ebay for the tune of about $80 shipped...NIB.  I shoulda got it but have too many other things I want/need more lol.

And thank you for the kind words!

I've considered the Pearl White but don't quite like the pearl.  I missed an Alpine White for $81 a couple days ago.  I wasn't thinking on that one.    :icon_scratch:   (sigh) ...I keep thinking I don't want a front license plate so I would either have to suck it up or color match the paint perfectly.  Depending on which 1:12 bikes you're looking for, they're going for fairly cheap it seems like if you wait for Auction only.

I noticed the Uli Nowak wheels.   What are they going on?   So what's up with the silver 550?  I saw a couple completed listings and if you got the one I'm looking at you got it for a deal.  You should let me pick that and the Coca Cola Ferrari up from you.    :wavetowel2:

Haven't decided on the wheels yet (Uli's).  The Motormax Porsche CGT I've got coming for the wheels for the C63....may throw them on there and re do the CGT.

With that said I'm really undecided on Uli's wheels.  Also have a 330 E90 they would look good on.  But if I do that I know I will have to heavily mod the wheel wells to get the wide rears to fit.

I was surprised I got that UT for so cheap.  A lil wheel damage never hurt anybody and it's a great model for the year it was produced.  May do a custom job on it...but if I decide to do nothing with it and want to get rid of it, I'll let you know.  The F430 Cola car I'm keeping and the one that didn't have the door shut right is in pieces.  Used the seat for the M3, and the wheels are currently disassembled and perm modified waiting for something to be put on lol.

Wow, for someone who just started, you have amassed an amazing collection so far and it appears you won't be slowing down anytime soon.  Hope after you move you find a number of suitable display cases to house all of your models to display them properly.  Good luck and keep sharing those acquisitions with us.

Thanks guys, and I agree we need a GS-F along with a good 1:18 IS-F!

And thank you again for the kind words, I too hope to get a good display case when the time comes to move.  That's the only thing holding me back right now is not wanting to have to move a bunch of sheets of glass.  Nothing good could come of that.

Okay so I did some budget shopping for this next round.  I also modded my black Hotwheels F430.  Upon seeing some pics with the flash on I realized I need to do another coat of black on the interior of it.  Some of the tan is still showing through and a good polish on the exterior.

Mods I did to it were

Seatbelts, repaint the interior, red driving strip, carboned the interior, painted the wheels, touched up the engine bay, and added real screen in all the body vents.  I'd like to go back and add another racing harness to the passenger seat, throw a carbon lip on the front w/ turnbuckles, and carbon the rear air diffuser.

Cars scored for this round

UT 550M (silver, infamous melting wheels, $20 or so shipped)
Bburago 456 GT (pretty simple/plain jane, $20 or so shipped)
Hotwheels Elite F40 Test Car (okay I splurged a little on this one $70 shipped) lol
Hotwheels California (NIB, $30 shipped)
Motormax Carrera GT (I bought this to use the wheels on my C63 AMG project lol....and this model is very very rough)
Autoart Toyota FJ's (X2, $18 shipped for the both of them, going to mod one...lift, swampers, etc)
