I picked this model up at a hobby show several years ago for $35. The CLK-GTR is my favorite racing car - it just looks "right" and has the performance to match. Its record also speaks for itself (it and the following CLK-LM were so dominant the FIA had to kill off their race class, since no one else could compete). Of course, the CLR Le Mans car that followed was somewhat less successful...

This is my favorite paint scheme for this car. The complex paint job is well done and the detail is very good inside and out - typical old-school AUTOart. Plus, since it is from that earlier era, everything opens. Really the only problem I have with it is that they used decals for the graphics on the rear - they're applied well, but they flake off very easily. I dare not try to open the back for fear of destroying the decals. Despite that, though, this is a model I'm really happy to have in my collection. (The 1/12 is still one of my holy grails though - maybe someday... :lamende: )

Yep, it's one of the best looking GTR's of the lot...but the Maisto version doesn't look bad either....

Be very careful opening the rear engine cover of the AutoArt version.  I've sold one for scrap trying.    :wavetowel2:

Nice pics of a truly well detailed model.

Very nice...I've always loved this livery.  I have the Maisto version & the CLK-DTM with similar livery.

The wheels/brakes on the AUTOart are so well done.

I have the #11 car and the liveries are so crispy right now. Which is why I haven't touched it for 2 years now.

I too have a Maisto in a one of the other paint schemes.  One line of cars they did a fairly decent job on.

Is a beautiful livery, but I would like more a "naked" version to see the body shapes better. Good to see a comparison between the 2 version, but the Maisto result seems to be ready for flying.
