This gonna sound crazy but I have 1 full black 599 GTO, a full scuderia red GTO that I need to pick up at the parcel office.. About to buy the red/black top one and as soon as the Special edition purpleish one comes out, gonna buy that one too..... and a few more in either colors to maybe repaint and do stuff to etc..   I'm a GTO fan...Posted Image

As to it becoming a hard find in the near future, not sure on that, it is the top of the line for Ferrari, so I would assume so.. much like the 458 Italia Elites are somewhat scarce and ridiculously priced.
One of the GTOs cost me 80$ shipped which was the lowest I've gotten for one of these.

Correct me if im wrong but doesnt the actual 599 gto come in only the red/black roof combo?the black does look awfully nice on the model though.Would love to see a pic of it next to a Kyosho F40 LW in black!

599 GTO can be configured to any color combo just like any other ferrari.

Heres a rather long thread showing the many faces of the GTO.

There's a similar thread on Ferrari Chat.  Yes, the GTO can be ordered in just about any color configuration.  I've stalled on buying one of these because things have kept coming up, but I'm planning on buying one of these while I still can (very soon)!

They look evil in Black!!

If I were to add one it would have to be Black. You guys in the US are lucky - in general they cost double here in the UK Posted Image

I know it's a different model 599, I had the HWE 599XX in red, sure it looked nice, but for me it didn't have the wow factor, so I got shot of it.

The thing with ferrari is..you can have them in any color as long as they are red!..the black one is seriously sexy..but im gonna have to stick with the red theme of my ferrari collection..had to restrain myself from getting a black f40 LW too!

The only reason I have not picked one up is seriously, I don't know which color to get. I was planning on only having red Ferrari's, but my 410 is black. And I have a white Anson 248...so I am stuck. They are great looking cars and Hot Wheels has done a great job.

I'm confused as to why people are claiming the 458's are becoming rare and are being sold at ridiculous prices. I found a few HWE on ebay at normal prices today in a few colors as well. I wish the Elite version of the 458 came in that baby blue color the non-HWE variant is available in :10:

In red, though? I'm fairly happy with my non-elite in red but if I can find one close to original price I'd def upgrade...   :10:

As for the 599 GTO, I dunno it's possible that it would get rare but it seems like it's not as revered among enthusiasts as the 288 GTO or even the 458 so not sure if that would play into it.

To be honest I'm not a fan of the 458 at all, I don't like its looks nor the wheels on it, the wheels look like cheap aftermarket boy racer wheels.

I won't be adding one.

Well I will say this about the colors, personally I think this car is worth having in both black and red simply because of the different interiors... however to choose one, I would think it depends really on what catches your eye and what you would consider a more prominent feature of the car, the interior or the exterior as far as displaying goes. The black car looks awesomely sinister and the interior just jumps out at you which is excellent, but the exterior features are somewhat easily lost except under perfect light conditions. The red one is much easier to distinguish the lines of the car, however the interior plays a secondary role here as its in black/grey.

It would have been great if they also offered it with the cream/brown interiors but guess thats not gonna happen. I'm actually considering either painting one of them or if possible to swap over an interior from an elite 599 GTB that has a cream interior.

I have the Black and I love it. It's awesome! But because it's a Ferrari and also a GTO, I will add the all-red version soon because I want all my GTO's and F cars to be in Red.

Yep I too think that if you can't decide between the two, get both - the Black cars don't seem to be as excpensive & there are bargains to be had. The Red car obviously has the premium - but anyone after one will eventually find one cheap.

IMO the black one def does look nicer..but like the 288GTO its the red that may command a premium in the future..makes the choice even harder!

I bought all three road versions that are currently avaliable but sold the one that was all red (red roof) just to save money. The colour is also very bright; too bright imo. I'm torn between the red/black and all black one over which one I like most but I'm happy I have them both.

Ths is how I feel, but you made a better point to get the black one for myself. I do like the idea of switching out the interiors, but I won't be doing that. So, I guess I am going to get the black one. I can always get a red 599 GTB and a red 599XX, especially the ?new? #77.

I have the all red 599 GTO. IMO, I think it'll carry a premium once retailers are all sold out of them. Like the California and 458, the price will definitely go up quite nicely. However, I don't think the 599 GTO will be as rare and expensive as the 288 GTO   :wavetowel2:

I just received my 599 GTO and I am wondering how well this scales to the 1:1.  I am displaying it next to my 288 and 250 and the 599 is huge compared to them.  Is it true to scale?

Funny thing is, this is the first thread I clicked on this afternoon, and my 599GTO was waiting for me when I got home.  I wanted one for months, and I felt lucky to find one at a great price after all of that waiting.  I paid $62 with shipping included for the Rosso Corsa/Carbon GTO.  The crazy thing is, I recently sold some models (CTS-V, GT-R, Carrera GT) because I had each model in more than one color.  Those three cars, along with the GTO, are among my overall favorites, and I couldn't decide on a color.  Well, now that I narrowed those cars down to one color, I am so tempted to get the 599GTO in another color!  So much for downsizing my collection and limiting myself to one model per mold!  I really like the one I got, but the black car with red interior is very tempting.  My next purchase is the FF (I'm torn about color choice on that one as well) so I may get another 599GTO and a second FF depending on my want list priorities.  I just love Hot Wheels Elite Ferraris!
