So this is the new Dodge Viper set to be officially presented in the NY Auto show in spring. It has leaked from a Hot Wheels catalogue. What do you think?

A little more clear view of the hood. It's gunna need all those vents to keep that V10 cool... rumored to displace 8.7L :omg:
Can't wait for the full reveal (and the Maisto 1/18 version) for this one

Sorry, a little off topic Alex, but what is with the crawling bug......I have hit the computer screen a number of times. First time I thought I had another virus, please say it ain't so.

Reserve judgement on the Viper, in some cases some pictures fail to say one thousand words

^ A bit disappointing that the vents in the hood aren't as deeply sculpted as the leaked image on autoblog but loving the fact it resembles the 1st gen Viper in overall shape

The hotwheels version in the flesh, for those that haven't seen it already (I didn't see it posted here, so....??)

Posted Image
It's going to have an aggressive "double bubble" roof line...and a GTS (circa 96-02) rear end, which I'm luvin.  The head light design is meh.

Just trying to keep the forums clean. No need to have two similar topics. :occasion14:

I cannot stop staring at this car!

It brings back the curves of the best looking Viper, the GTS, and combines those looks with a revised V10 with quite a bit more horsepower. The interior is miles ahead of the last car and the extensive use of composite materials is very impressive. The fact that it weighs 100 pounds less and has 140 more horsepower(than 2003 release) should make any respectable car guy drool and it has launch control.

:nice: @Gavin!

I agree about the look of the GTS-R - I love that, with all the drama and angst about car counts in prototype racing, GT racing is flourishing these days with more and more manufacturers jumping in with both feet in the multiple classes in multiple series.

Now if only Porsche would decide to return to LMP1 to go against Toyota and Audi. The problem there, of course, is that Porsche owns 50% of Volkswagen which owns Audi, so they would consider that corporate infighting and probably a waste of money and resources. The days of Dodge vs. Plymouth, Ford vs. Mercury and Chevy vs. Oldsmobile vs. Buick vs. Pontiac are long-gone in these belt-tightening days...

I think it looks awesome.  Not as good as the original Viper GTS, but still, simply awesome.  It reminds me of a TVR Cerbera and Ferrari California mixed with the 1st generation Viper.  I want a 1:18 right away - Maisto, get on that :hope:

The original Viper was the car that first made me think cars were cool - a blue GTS with white stripes parked near my house. Since then, my love for the Viper has waned a bit, and I admit I wasn't expecting much of this new version...

Boy was I surprised today. I can't think of anything I would change really - captures the dramatic lines of the original with lots of fresh details. I guess the hood is a bit over sculpted, but it still makes sense with the design. And I really dislike the new cartoonish logo. But thats all!

This thing has the ZR-1 beat 100 times over on looks, I guess we'll see if it handles as well...
