Good to hear. I was in contact with Otto today and sent them pictures for review so hope we can come to some kind of resolution soon.

I received mine today as well. Glue in areas and some paint imperfections but the thing that REALLY bothers me is the fingerprints on the windows. It would not be so bad if they were outside!

I think you might be able to unscrew the base then the interior will come out as one piece so you'll be able to clean them off. I could well be wrong though.

Yeah its really easy to take apart first unscrew the base then remove the wheels/axles and then with a strong pull of the interior base plate it should come free and pull out and hey presto you can get to the interior of the car. The windows are very delicate so use light gentle sweeps with a cloth or Q-tip and that should remove any finger marks or dust.

Thank you both for the suggestion! I will attempt that today. If it was a crime scene, i would have a perfect fingerprint on the side window :giggle:

I had 2 show up this week.  The box looked like it went through a war zone.  Luckily there were no broken parts but both cars have paint issues.  Are the paint issues bad enough to complain?  I'm not really sure if they are (especially considering the condition of the OP's car)...   maybe I will post some pics and let you all decide.

Mine had paint issues as well. I took some Meguiar's compound and now it is 95% as opposed to the 70% it was when i removed from the box.

Just heard back from them. No chance on getting a replacement since they're all sold out my only options are to get replacement parts or a refund. I think I'll just be fixing it since I still want both. The broken one will serve as a base for modifications anyway. I guess in the end my damaged pieces are fixable..can't really fix paint issues.

My M5 turned up on thursday and its all ok apart for a paint run on the left rear side which kinda sucks but hey ho.

I've read a few posts on other forums, looks like Otto might be taking a step in the wrong direction with QC.  The last few I received were much better than their initial releases, but the M5 is breaking the recent trend.

Boy after going over the 2 i received, their quality control is almost none existent! Paint runs, windows with fingerprints on the inside and glue smears on various locations. It is bad, period.

Yeah, quality control is poor but in my experience customer service more than make up for it.
I've had a couple of shockers but they always give me my money back or replacement parts if needed.
Also Google translate is good for comms, just type your letter in english in and it will translate the whole letter. :)

Seems like they're going backwards in terms of QC, odd as they've been really good  lately, my last one from them was the 205 GTI & that was fine. One thing that annoys me are the re-sellers who only send them out in the brown box OTTO use, they take a right kick in, luckily the white inner boxes survive.

Also let's not forget price they are still incredibly good value.
BBR, MR, Tecnomodel etc would be charging at least 200 or more for a similarly constructed model.

They are good BUT nowhere near Tecnomodel or BBR. They are a good value but not when they come with many, many issues. Fingerprints inside the windows? Paint runs on various locations and extra glue for another car no longer spells good value for me. I see that some sellers on ebay are charging near $200. Could you imagine paying that much for this?

I have a few Otto's and they do not have the issue's this latest BMW has.

That seems unfair to me if they refunded the entire cost and I still got to keep the model. I'm satisfied anyway.

Would you pay 40€ if you know that this M5 will come with that mistakes :) ?
