I just finished watching my recording of Friday's inaugural Grand-Am race at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Rain added to the intrigue of the event and the results went against the routine, but once again I enjoyed it. Grand-Am racing at the Daytona Prototype and GT levels is entertaining and competitive, though in DP the cars, though attractive, still look a bit too similar due to regs. The driver line-ups, particularly in this event, are excellent, including non-regulars such as Sebastian Bordais, Jean-Pablo Montoya and Scott Dixon.
Still, I would enjoy an inexpensive 1/18th model of the Riley-Fords or -BMWs and the many Corvette DPs. Although my personal faves Alex Gurney and Jon Fogarty failed to finish, congratulations to the overall winner, Sebastian Bordais and Alex Popow!
