I would imagine you'd have to add shipping and customs duties if applicable as at the end of the deal, that is how much the car cost you by the time it hit your shelf.

An old topic, but I guess my best deals would still stand with my UT 993 Turbo at  $42 and black Turbo S at $45 both by UT and were local pick ups. Not as great a deal as Sir Gary's but I'm still very happy about them  :happy

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

i got a red 993 turbo s in red, black and the 3 regular turbos for $40 but thats when they first came out. they also threw in a 993 gt2 red with a piece of the spoiler hanging but can be reglued :happy

I know exactly where you're coming from Phatal 1.  One of my best bargains is an Auto Art BMW 320i WTCC plain body in black 1/18.  I got it in an ebay auction for $2.04CDN. Yes $2.04CDN.  This guy is out of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan and most of his auctions start at around $2.04CDN.  His prices are in GBP's, British Pounds and the kicker is his shipping fees.  They were 15GBP which works out to about $32 - $33 CDN.  That wasn't too bad providing you win the auction at a low bid but it certainly adds up if you're willing to excallate the bidding.  He just recently bumped his fees up to 20GBP.  I called it quits bidding on his stuff after that and even emailed him complaining about his outrageous shipping fees. His reply was he was sorry I felt that way.

The last model I bought was a Red Minichamps Porsche Carrera GT,and I bought it from ebay 66$ for the car itself and 38 for shipping,so it made 104$ for me,and it's still half the price in Turkey. (In here we usually see stupid prices on minichamps' because they just have one partner in Tr and they put really high prices) I paid a high shipping cost but I still think that 66$ is a bargain for Minichamps CGT :)

Must be nice, the rednecks here take some awful stuff to the thrift stores, and besides, if they came off thier diecast collection, what do I need 35 Dale Sr. models for?

payed 75$ aussie delivered, spoiler fell off when I took it out, but wasnt sellers fault, was packed as in photo and strapped down. Nothing some superglue wont fix. Bargain considering what they retail for.

Skylines are about the only models I buy now. thats my theme.

My "triumph in shopping" occurred two months ago when I bought an Exoto 1/18th Porsche 917/30 (the out-of-production, driver-less Mark Donohue Road America Can-Am winner), which I regularly see going for $400 and more on eBay and shown on the Exoto site at $598.95 (if it were available), for $161.41, including shipping. The box is a bit shelf-worn, but the internal packaging and model are otherwise mint (photo credited to Exoto.com).

:edit - Correction: that price included a membership for $29.95, so the actual price of the 917/30 was $131.46!

My best bargain would be getting a Maisto McLaren F1 for $15 a few weeks ago. The box was missing one side lid but that was easily fixed thanks to a cereal box. Pretty good considering the prices of McLarens these days.
