Congrats on your Prize, I've got the very same model (either that or Eddys been in my storage unit enjoying the ole "5 Finger Discount"). Big up to Eddy for running the comp & glad I didn't win as I'd have 2 Minis now lol

Nope, I like how it breaks up the low profile and aggressive styling on my shelf. In fact, it sits next to the Cinque :nice:

...and by means of rounding this thread off, with Rafa's permission i'm posting a copy of his PM to me....

Rafael Oliveira, on 10 January 2013 - 08:25 PM, said:

I'm going to tell you a story...

Once upon a time... in April 2012, Rafa and his girlfriend, Diana, went to a classic car show in Lisbon. There they saw lots of great cars, including a Lamborghini Miura SV, a Ferrari F40, 4 Series I E-Type Jags, an Iso Grifo and lots and lots more. But there was a little yellow one that caught Diana's eye and made her stop for a while. Rafa couldn't waste the opportunity to capture such two beauties in the same picture...

Posted Image

The diecast models in the event were so appealing that Rafa couldn't leave without buying a Shelby GT500 Eleanor. By September, Rafa started looking for really high quality models. That's when he met a seller in Greece who offered such an unbelievable deal that Rafa bought 4 models, including one he would eventually offer as a gift to his girlfriend...

Posted Image

Rafa also discovered a fantastic diecast forum called diecastxchange. He presented himself to the community and started showing his models. He also mentioned that there was a fourth model in the package that came from Greece, but he couldn't say anything at that time...

Posted Image

In December, one of the top fellas, called Eddy, started a nice little Christmas game in the deicastxchange forum. He said there would be a prize, he just didn't say what it would be...

Posted Image

Rafa eventually won the game and was thrilled as to what the prize would be after Eddy ask him for his address because he would actually be sending something. Diana received a very cute little yellow model for Christmas, a piece of automotive history, along with the printed photo that Rafa had taken at the car show. Rafa and Diana were so happy about the car. Diana said that the model should actually be for Rafa because she doesn't collect, but Rafa said that it was for her, secretly he wanted one too...

In January 2013, Rafa receives a package that could hold a 1/18 diecast. He knew it had to be from Eddy, but what was it?

"WHAT!? But... how? Is it for real? How did he know? Am I dreaming? Omg this is awsome!"

Eddy's gift was the exact same yellow Lotus Elan that Rafa had given to his girlfriend and that he wanted too!
It was an amazing moment for Rafa, and also for Diana when she saw it. They now both own that beautiful car and hopefully will live happy forever!

The End

Eddy, I don't really know what to say. There was no way I was expecting this. Would you understand if I simply say Thank You?
Sometimes it's those simple things in life that make all the difference. I cannot say that this made my day, that wouldn't be fair. It probably made my week. Possibly my month!

I have just opened the model now as I wasn't at home since shortly after I received the package, no flaws whatsoever. I can't take any photos of it because... I lost my camera last week :bawling:

It is really a beautiful little model and a wonderful late Christmas surprise!

I don't know what to say... I hope you enjoyed the story, you're part of it :nice:

Thanks mate have a great new year! :occasion14:

Thanks for posting Eddy!

I'm really sorry I didn't post anything, but as I've already said, I lost my camera before I received my prize... :bawling:

And having said that... what a prize!!!

I replaced the Nissan Skyline with the Elan, so now it's sitting next to a black Range Rover and the orange Murcielago SV, 3 happy AUTOarts! :wavetowel2:

Thanks Eddy!!!!! :occasion14:
