This is more or less a continuation of the thread; “Elite F12 pics – Yellow” (hope rac3r won’t mind).

I think both the HWE Ferrari F12 and the FF deserve some extra spotlight.

When you see the F12 and the FF together the design similarities are striking.
It is absolutely the continuation of a style and design path which mainly started with the 458.

It took me quite some time to get used to the FF but now I think it is a great car, both technically and visually.
In my opinion the F12 is just a more dynamic and a bit smaller version of the FF which makes the F12 more elegant.
Both cars are a perfect combination of technology, performance and elegance,  . . . just perfect Ferrari’s

This time I have tried to edit the photos much less then I usually do, . . . hope you enjoy them.
It’s quite a handful to start with but I found it difficult to choose.

How about that for speedy reply then!   :giggle:   Actually it's difficult not to smile back when they're both 'smiling' at you!

Splendid work, I also like these clean pictures best as they shows what the model really looks like. I dislike the FF openly, but that F12 looks pretty fine, still a bit of that brutish HWE feel, but nice. The yellow suits it well, just a shame it doesn't have a two tone interior like the FF...maybe still to come

If it's not die-cast, it won't have a crumple zone

Yellow really suits the F12.   Nicely done on these pictures.   Thank you for sharing us your FF & F12.    I can't wait to have my own F12.

Yellow is a standout color for the F12!

This is strange. The F12 looks more cheap than the FF. The headlights could be better. The front grills are they see thru?

Red_Baron, I agree with you, the F12 is a fine model but it seems that HWE did a better job with the FF, especially on the details (interior/motor/lights).
It seems that the quality of the model changes from model to model, I put some thoughts about this in the thread "Hot Wheels's Elite Series..." in DX Diecast Polls.

nice comparo...the F12 looks really good, IMO.

Can't get over how big the FF looks.  The 1:1 does look better in person, but doesn't seem to photograph well.

The 1/1 is huuuge, recently saw one next to a 456 (the other 4 seater Ferrari) and it dwarfs it! It looks fantastic though, I think the colour makes a big difference in how well it photographs.

Kind of weird to say this, but the Ferrari F12 almost looks better in yellow than in red?

I have NEVER liked front-engine V12 Ferraris in yellow, with the exception of the Daytona, until now.  For whatever reason, I think the F12berlinetta looks stunning in yellow, whereas it looks a bit awkward on older V12 Ferraris to me.

I had planned on getting the F12berlinetta in Blu Pozzi because it's one of my favorite Ferrari colors.  But now, I am tempted to get it in Giallo Tristrato.  Since I have the FF in the same color as yours (Blu America), and varied colors on my other modern Ferraris by HWE, yellow would be a nice contrast.

I, for one, really like Ferrari's current design language.  I know a lot of purists disagree with me.  But to me, Ferrari is doing well to advance its designs without a complete break from the past.  I like how there's a strong resemblance between the F12 and FF as well.

And as a collector, I really like how Hot Wheels has made major strides in quality, fit and finish, and features while it's kept prices at or below $100 (at least prices are that low here in North America, I can't say how prices are elsewhere).  These are great models of great cars, and they represent some of the best values in 1:18 scale diecasts in my opinion.

I agree with Autobahn, Ferrari did a great job in transforming their design language to the modern age.
In my opinion Lamborghini has the “Wow” factor but Ferrari is more about “Balance” & “Beauty”.

The yellow paint is in reality more beautiful than in the pictures, there are little sparkles in it, just like the dark blue of the FF.

I also have a dark grey HWF F12 on pre-order.

It is not Giallo Modena, it is Giallo Tristrato.
I am getting it in this colour

I fixed my post since I didn't notice the color difference at first.  I still want the blue one the most, but this is so tempting.

Very well said.  That is the key distinction between modern Ferraris and Lamborghinis in my opinion.  I'd suggest this even carries over to the limited-production flagship supercars that each manufacturer unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show.  I think LaFerrari is a more attractive and balanced car compared to the Lamborghini.

Looking good in yellow. And I agree with Matt, I've never really liked yellow Ferraris in general, but the F12 definitely looks good in yellow. Of course, when I get mine, it'll have to be red. But it doesn't mean I don't like it in other colors. It's just traditions

Same here. Although other colours looks good, especially for a change, but to me, a Ferrari just have to be red!

I was gonna get the F12 in dark blue, but after seeing pics it looks way too dark, almost black.
Now ice seen your pics of the yellow I'm seriously considering that colour. It looks fantastic.
Very nice model you have there :)
