Bought my first resin model last night, wonder if it'll be the first of many or my only one. Anyhow, I'm really excited to see what it's like.

I suppose it's all down to relativity....
Is 1/18 time proportionate to 1:1 time???

@Racer 6c, I think putting the hard top on a 1:1 would be much easier and faster ha! I love CMC for all the detail they provide but man it was a challenge.

@Eddy, Yeah you could be right Ed, I won't be taking the hood off anytime soon though ;) I think it was me being careful with it, I remember seeing that someone on here attempted to put the hard top on and slipped and put a big scratch in the door so I had that in the back of me mind.

Think it's time I buy a few Resin model's, just thought to myself I'd rather have a flawless sealed model on display than a Diecast model riddled with paint rash... I'm noticing more paint rash on my models and it's just killing the enjoyment I get from this hobby :(

i feel your pain retro, a large percentage of my Exoto collection developed paint rash.

Yeah it's just so disappointing, Stu. I've tried to remove most of the paint rash on my models but it's like taking 2 steps forward but 10 steps back. I'm going to sell most of my collection and buy a few resin models, I'll still buy diecast model's but if there's any sign of paint rash they'll be sent back.

I'm thinking it's probably the humidity. I have paint rash on only a few and it's never bad enough for me to notice or ruin the model. In my opinion, a bit of paint rash is small price to pay for the ridiculous detail you get compared to a sealed resin. I'd rather quit collecting altogether than switch to resins.

Just bought a set of Micromesh polishing cloths, I'm going to head up to Hobby Craft later on to see if I can pick up some Tamiya fine and finish compound, so that's my weekend planned - tackling this pesky paintrash!!

I've been debating this for a week or so and I still can't make up my mind, do I go for the Autoart Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 Roadster 74698 or the new release Autoart Ford GT 73025 ? Both are within the same price range and I like them equally. Hmm decisions!

I have that same exoto prototype model in my collection, it's beautiful.

Thing is the FGT was always in demand is likely to sell out soon, whereas you can still find plenty of Lamboreghinis online. :-/

Thank you for all your input guys, I much appreciate it ... I've made a decision and the Aventador is going to have to wait as the Ford GT is now on it's way!!

You know inside the door shut there's a small kicker plate with McLaren written on it, that's the piece which is missing... I know it's not major but it's bugging me.

Hey Guy's. Just a quick question regarding the kyosho Ferrari's, is there any difference between the models which come in the perspex window boxes to the models which come in the polystyren clam shell boxes ? If I've put this in the wrong place then please let me know. Cheers

Thank you very much for the info guys it's much appreciated, I thought there may have been a difference like the kyosho and kyosho Hi-end.

To be honest there aren't all that much differences between hi-end and non hi-end to justify the price difference. I only bought hi-end because I couldnt find the earlier release. I like the protection offered by styrofoam shell box but storage wise window box is better as i can flatten it to save space

Ah right, see I thought that there was a huge difference detail wise... obviously not ha! Yes that's something I have to contend with, trying to find somewhere cool and dry to store all the boxes and as you know they do take up a lot of room.

Hey Guys, Quick question, I've recently bought a CMC 1961 Ferrari 250GT Berlinetta Passo Corto, my question is are there any QC issues I would need to look out for being a first time buyer of CMC models ? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

The headlights on that particular model tend to get foggy, check them, you might want to replace them for new ones. You can contact CMC directly for that. Otherwise the QC is usually good on CMC's.

The headlights may get foggy but thankfully it is a easy fix. Yours may not have that. Not many QC issues on CMC models thankfully.
    Congratulations on a great addition!

Thank you very much for the advice guys I very much appreciate it, Unfortunately the pictures are not very clear so I cannot tell if they are foggy or not, Fingers crossed they are fine and I don't have to do a repair job. none the less I cannot wait for it to arrive!!

Depends on the condition. If it's perfect (new & boxed) anything up to £150

@Clubshaker, Ha small world, I was watching it for a few days but finally pulled the trigger and I'm happy that I did ;)
@Gavin, Yeah I think minichamps is the better model IMO, funny enough I was looking at your thread a couple of days ago which made my mind up, I like how you can lift the carpet up to see the spare wheel
