Hi guys, does anyone make a 1:18 porsche 964/993 rs rollcage like the style pictured below with 2 crossed bars behind the driver and 1 behind the window?
Can be full or half cage, would prefer half cage. Closest I've found so far is this from legende-miniatures http://www.legende-miniatures.com/pieces/page139.html
but it would require chopping up and refixing to look right. Thanks.
If it were me, and I have tried to create roll bar/roll cage arrangements for custom models, it is easier to begin with a kit, such as you have shown, and then make the minor adjustments to customize.
When the system allows me to upload images again, I will show what I use - hollow plastic tube.
Solid wire can be inserted to keep the shape and add strength.
No other upload option that I know of!
I don't know what causes the problem so I will try again.
It's irritating, and happens from time to time.
Another fail.....
I will try again later......
Grrrrrrrrr!
You might have luck with some of the old AUTOart Porsche GT3 models. I think a couple of them came with the cage though I believe it was only the mid section with no rear or front arms. Otherwise, tube it bro.
Yes try to look for a cheap RSR / cup Autoart ( RS rollcage would be perfect but expensive ). Sometimes there is some with little exterior damage on eBay for like 20/30 euros
Cheers guys. The Autoart's that are caged are 996's so a different shaped caged and hard to find. The old UT caged 993's would be perfect but they are quite rare.
If it's significantly cheaper, I will build one otherwise may just go with the legends miniatures one.
What about GT Spirit 993's ? The cup one isn't to much expensive as it's not as rare as the RS ClubSport. Plus it would be the exact shape you want I think ?
