Package Lost

Towards the end of July I bought about 40 models from Merge Left via Ebay Germany. The models were posted in three separate boxes. I received two of the boxes about 4 weeks after payment, but one box has still not arrived after more than two months. I did not open a dispute with Paypal as I was confident (and the seller , Tobias assured me) that the box would arrive.

I have contacted DHL Germany and my Local Post Office but this package is nowhere to be found.

I have now almost given up hope completely and have accepted that I will probably never see the cars. I paid about 498 Euro's in total. I have contacted the seller on numerous occasions and today still he says DHL are investigating. This is more than 4 weeks after the initial investigation.

I know it's too late for a Paypal Dispute or a Bank reversal of my payment , but is there anything else I can do ?

It's your money. Open the dispute.

Two months is too long...I'd definitely log it with Paypal but I think you only have 45 days....

Do you have copies of your communications with Tobias?
They could be crucial in accounting for the delay in filing your dispute..

After more than 3 months package has still not arrived. Seller , Merge Left, does not reply to messages. I have asked DHL to investigate and sent numerous requests via their website to assist but they have as yet not been able to give me an answer. I first contacted them on 24th September.

As Merge Left states per their web site and the shipping conditions on ebay they only post insured packages Surely, if a packages goes missing the seller will get reimbursed the insured value.

It's been more than 100 days now. Surely the package is gone. Should DHL not have reimbursed the seller and passed this back to me or sent replacement models ?

Have you contacted DHL directly again recently.....
They should at least have an update on any actions they have taken with the seller....

I'm surprised that MergeLeft aren't replying to your emails....they've always been OK with me.....

The seller will never respond to you again because he knows that there's absolutely nothing you can do to get a refund from him. You should NEVER wait more than 45 days for an item, always open a case at day 44 so you can be safe, I know some sellers are "trust-able" but if you don't open a case before the deadline date, there's absolutely NO WAY for getting a refund. People must understand that, still don't get why they don't

Lesson's have been learnt with this experience. Unfortunately, the hard way.

I've bought lots of models over the internet and this has been my first bad experience.

I'm still going to follow up with DHL occasionally. You never know, the models may appear one day.

Reply from DHL. I'll send to Merge Left and see what happens

Dear Mr. Johnson,

first of all we want to apologize for the inconveniences you had.

Please be so kind informing the sender of this parcel about your complaint as he is our contractual partner and should be the one to file a claim.

Thank you very much for your understanding.

Yours sincerely

My experience with DHL ain't that great. For instance, AIR mail with regular post may take 7-10 days while DHL may take 14 days to 1.5 months. I've also had a package from DHL show up 4 months later. I thought it was lost but it did turn up eventually.

Sellers will ignore you after 45 days because they know ebay and paypal won't do anything
