Has anyone tried ceramic coating on a scale car? Could it protect the paint against rash or other things?

Since it's a "hidrophobic" coating, it could in theory protect against paint rash on models, as some argue that humidity is one of the causes. But the (little) I know is that for a 1:1, ceramic coating is only for protection of a already 100% perfect paint job, so lots of prep before. I don't think it's worth it on a model car, knowing that paint quality, application and finish on models is not always the best.
