Hi All,

Here I would like to present my models collected since 2001. Also as a fun part, I would like to rank my models based on simply 3 things:

1. The 1:1 car appeal to me persoanlly.

2000
Exoto Hummer H1 Presidential election
Total: 14 Real car appeal: 5 Exterior: 5 Interior: 4

+ It's huge too! And heavy!
+ Photoetched material used at the engine inlet.

- Plastic roof, plastic bumper, plastic rims.
- interior covered by stickers.

Only after I bought this model I realized that it's not based on a true livery! No wonder I couldn't find pictures of the real car with the same livery...

"The Presidential Election of 2000 will go down in the History Books as one of the most closely contested ever! We at GMB have recently come across some EXOTO Humvees produced in 2001 to commemorate this historic event in United States history. Whether you were an Al Gore or George W Bush supporter, EXOTO has created this Special Limited Edition just for you .Both the Bush-Cheney and Gore-Lieberman Humvee America replica feature an elaborate, simulated air-brushed graphic of the American Flag with the appropriate official campaign logo placed on the hood. The white roof has been left blank for the possibility of having your replica hand signed by either candidate one day! Each Humvee America replica also features unique Florida personalized plates reading CHAD4U, making reference to the recount debacle that took place in Florida in the days following the election. This exclusive edition was strictly limited to 2,537 pieces only... that is 2000 for the 2000 Presidential Election and 537 for the number of votes separating Bush and Gore. "

hahaha, nice PR

Autoart Mercedes CL55 AMG Formula 1 Safety car

+ Really like the side profile of the real car and the model, very elegant. In my opinion one of the most beautiful coupes ever made.
+ Movable sunglasses roof panel
+ All the extra Safety car equipment

- The front of the model doesn't look like the real car. The lower bumper is too straight, the inner headlights are too big, the solid part underneath the Mercedes star in the grill is too thick
- Solid mesh at the front bumper
- The upper part of the steering wheel shouldn't be white

Here is a comparison between Kyosho 308 and HWE 308 qv:

I bought the HWE first after reading mrm's comments about 2 years ago. According to him who has both versions, the HWE version is every bit as good as the Kyosho one.
To be honest, I don't agree with him after I got the Kyosho one.

Kyosho > HWE:
full window
headlight angle
rims
thinner gear stick
the HWE antenna is too thick
thinner panel gaps
the HWE roof spoiler is too thick
working suspension

HWE > Kyosho:
photoetched windscreen wipers
smaller (more realistic) Ferrari badge at the back
absence of the black stubs inside the backlights
brighter interior
better steering wheel angle
photoetched keyhole

Left = Kyosho, right = HWE

Thanks a lot!

At the top right corner of every post is a post number...if you right click on that and then select 'Copy link address'.
When writing your next post (or editing an existing one) you then highlight a piece of text like 'My V8 Ferraris'
Then click on the link icon that will open up a box, you then paste in the URL  using Ctrl+V (like you did with the link to Gustavo's thread above) and click 'OK'
Your bit of highlighted text (that is now underlined and in blue) now acts as the link to that post...as I've done above  ^...

Hope this helps....good luck! :hope:

2002
Autoart Porsche 996 GT2
Total: 14   Real car appeal: 6   Exterior: 4   Interior: 4

+ 996 has been made by a lot of manufactures, including Autoart, Minichamps, Bburago, Maisto... But the 996 GT2 is only made by Autoart, therefore relatively rare
+ Nice rims as usual for AUTOart

- model feels very light, lots of plastic parts
- visible plastic mold line at the front bumper (at least for the 1st releases)
- dog legs
- solid mesh
- no side windows
