Ford Sierra RS500 Bastos #1 G.Brancatelli/B.Schneider/W.Percy Winner 24H Spa-Fancochamps 1989 (Minichamps)



externally is very good, the paint is perfect (though it has some orange peel) and the decals also, the car is opened all the doors the hood and trunk, low are very detailed, the wheels are very well reproduced, worst car are skewers front and rear lights

the engine is very detailed, you can see the engine with all its components, hoses and miscellaneous wiring

the interior is nice, the seat is plastic and seat belts are rubber on the ground, you can see the fire extinguisher and some cables (which is raised) the dashboard is well reproduced, although looks pretty plasticky

the trunk is very detailed, you can see the fuel tank and some wiring

I cannot believe that no one's replied!

I think this model was produced when Minichamps really knew what they were doing. I do agree that some bits are a bit too plastic, but the detail is nice. The engine looks sweet & so do the wheels, the underside detailing is cool too.

I never got around to getting one of the racing Sierras...wanted one of the Texaco cars for the longest time (no real reason, except that I liked the livery).

Looks like a great model...might have to start searching again.

Gavin, Biante have released an ANZ one recently & the Redkote car has just come out, plus they're doing the Dick Johnson 1989 car too. They might be worth a look into.

AUTOart's Sierras are top notch when it comes to paint finish, level of detail and chassis gaps, so @Gavin, if you still want one, I would suggest getting one from AUTOart.

That's an impressive model of the RS500, definitely a better model from Minichamps comparing to some of their recent offerings.. do you have any more in other liveries?

This model was produced when they knew what they were doing. Sadly that's not the case anymore
Mind you their road car was terrible compared to the AUTOart one, but prices are strong on it right now. The AUTOart is miles better.

Yes, it's been customised.
Race numbers, drivers names and windscreen strip all changed.
