Its no longer a transkit add on project... From wheels threading to engine upgrades, it has become an extreme detailing project! Way to go Eddy! :)

hilarious Eddy.  :giggle:

Seriously ambitious work...I never would have thought to make wire wheels from pretty much scratch.  Bravo!

Can't wait to see the end result.  Good luck, man!

Simply amazing detail! I don't know know if you heard about the guy who lands Red Bull F1 job by building  paper models, anyway , you should make a video of your wheel building for youtube, surely Exoto or CMC will be looking to recruit you!

Looking amazing Eddy!, and a true test of what problem solving, attention to detail, and patience can do.  Will be one sharp looking Italian stallion when done; it has been very cool to follow.

I love the "flintstone" ferrari pic (a while back). You're a brave man to respoke those wheels. I did a similar job on a Pocher RR years ago and I thought I was going bonkers. Looking forward to the end result. Everytime I deconstruct a cheap 1:18 I always pray that I don't break the wheels. Mostly it works but not always :-(

Excuses, excuses Si, but it's been a case of 2 steps forwards and one step back....
1) my hubs just didn't come together at all as I expected, so got a bit of a prob there.... :dunno:
2) In a moment of madness I figured that the 0.3mm wires were a wee bit thin, so decided to try 0.4mm....
consequently I pulled out all of the wires from one of the wheels, had a further think about it,  changed my mind and decided to keep the 0.3.............but somehow in all that chaos that has recently descended on the boxroom - (re: events surrounding the Wormhole) - I managed to loose the wires for that one wheel!!!  :gaah:    Reckon they must have been sucked into another dimension...

Essentially that means I don't have enough 0.3 wire left to repair that one wheel, so will have to buy some more!!!! :mad2:

Anyways, I DID manage to find the silver paint i'd lost in the same chaos, so am planning to push on with the engine/chassis/ interior while I decide whether to buy the 0.3 or 0.4....so I'm going to have to put some more time aside to move this along a bit!   :hope: :hope: :hope:

thanks for your patience!

Having been 'forced' to face up to my responsibilities, I thought 'in for a penny, in for a pound...'

So I ordered the 0.4mm wire today!  10 metres of the stuff.... :omg: Got my work cut out again eh?

FYI - I PM'd Eddie and got this reply:

"Hi Craig, I really must get round to replying on the thread, but sadly little to report as it was put on the back burner (actually kinda wound up) due to 'real world' stuff - you know!!
Did get some hiroboy bits to go on it tho' but still in their boxes...... :bawling:
Well something to do when i retire eh??"

So, it looks like it will be some time, if ever, before we see any further progress.  And so goes life........
