Looking good Tumbo, just need to get you some 1/8 scale stands to put the body on. Just thinking on this, Michael, what decals are you waiting on? I thought you had them all. Also, you need better light to get a better depth of field in your photos.

Cheers for the feedback

Waiting on the chassis decals which weren't out when I first bought the kit. Part of the reason for lack of lighting is that i'm taking the photos in my model room which I try to keep quite dark lol! Minimise damage to the paint/decals

Awesome model! I would love to get this one as well. Quick question was it all pre-painted? I have the 08 McLaren from them, it was a blast to build. I am way jealous of this one man!

Did the figure come with the Japanese release? It's slightly annoying that the Japan releases get a whole load of things the European releases don't. The Japanese MP4-23 builders had the option of getting wet tyres for it once their build was completed.

Yeah and meanwhile us here in America currently don't have the option of getting it :(   I also noticed that the Japanese market had the option of the wet tires with the MP4/23. Not fair :(

That's a real beauty! I am incredibly jealous! Where did you get the whole kit from and how difficult was it to build?

My oh my, I've tried my hardest to forget this model existed haha, I don't wanna convince myself that I need it. Amazing job man, it looks very clean and no excess glue. How long did it take you? I know how satisfying it is to complete such a model, congratulations!

Great subject matter and beautiful model - congrats on completing the build.  I'm just about to start a 1/8 build and all going well I'd love to do this Senna car one day.

Whole kit bought from Japan direct - took in the end about 70ish hours to get complete including painting and decaling.

Definitely a highlight of the collection now - in fact it sits up there w/ my rather tiny 1/43 Subaru WRC 1997 Safari McRae which my bro gave me for my 18th; because this wonderful piece was a present from my beautiful Fiancee in anticipation of our wedding to keep me occupied while she was on an overseas trip :D!

Out of all the 1/8 cars I could own this definitely is the ultimate; such a wonderful car - beautiful simplicity and moreso Senna's first WDC

Would you mind telling what store you bought it from? I can PM you if necessary as I'm very interested in this! Also, what did you have to paint? I thought it was pre-painted.

Bought from Yahoo auctions as a complete set; I painted a couple of areas such as the monocoque and the front nose to more accurately reproduce the actual car - the car is repainted but some retouching makes a huge difference

Brilliant. I'd love to see a photo of this next to the equivalent 1/18 to get an idea of the size.

I also am in process of building this model with the Museum Collection decal set- question for tumbo-swrt--what colors did you use  for chassis tub, or and did you just apply the carbon fiber over it?

Model Space USA have finally released this kit, only been out a couple of weeks and they've already raised the price a little bit.
Did you do all of the different Museum Collection decal sets including the nose one with the wooden strips? Are the decals in the full set any better than what comes with the kit?
Would love to hear more about the assembly - particularly how many screw heads are visible once the model is complete. This was always a drawback for me on the Pocher and Rosso kits.
I could kick myself for selling the Rosso Ferrari model years ago but it honestly didn't excite me that much when it was built. Had big plans for hanging it on the wall but never got around to it so off it went to Ebay.
By the way, Model Space have an official build diary on their site along with diaries contributed by other builders. Worth checking out their forum.

PS: Model Space USA claim to be "working on" getting the Senna figure released over here. No word on the rain tires which were apparently done on a lottery basis in Japan. A postcard was included in one of the parts packs and all of the cards sent in were then entered into a drawing for the rain tires is my understanding of how it worked.
