I often prefer lining up a collection of cars displaying their profile only, but this worked out to be pretty good too. Better than crystal clear display cases. The lighting helps solidify the feeling of its own contained world.

Since I am finding it very difficult to get suitable glass cut to size for my Detolf's. I'm experimenting with sheets of perspex which I am going to cut to size myself.
I noticed looking at the Norev display at Nuremberg they used perspex with a secondary brace underneath.
More when I see what happens, I have a feeling I may have to sandwich two sheets together for strength.

i used 6mm perspex in mine 3 cars per sheet, 5 yrs later all is good in my detolf!

Did you get the perspex cut for you or did you do it yourself?
I have a suitable circular saw with which to experiment.
No matter what happens, perspex will not end up in a thousand fragments spread around the floor... :yahoo:

I had them cut to size, some ebay seller. Was a while ago so can't access actual seller......
