Ferrari Dino 246F1 #34 l.Musso GP Monaco F1 1958 (Exoto)

Posted Image

Here I present this beauty best of EXOTO, the XS series

outside is very good, the pefect tampografias paint and tampon printing also, except in the dorsal nose( missing a chunk of paint) the car will be removed nose and bonnet addition to the bodywork of the back, in the nose and the back have two covers that open, besides the fuel filler neck, you can open, rims and tires are very well reproduced, has drum brakes on all 4 wheels, and is the most fragile part Car, gives the feeling that dismount with any sudden movement, the suspension in theory is functional, but just in case I did not check to see if it works

the front is very detailed, you can see the arms of the suspension, chassis, radiators with copper pipes and metal

the engine is very detailed, you can perfectly see all their components, with their respectives pipes and their metal sleeves and wiring, carbs are very detailed in theory at closed throttle butterflies move admission (but not probe to do so)

The interior is very detailed, the seat is plastic and have flock, also can be removed (same as the headrest), everything inside is metal plate that protects the transmission rod,can be removed (so you can see how tour if you move the rear wheels) steering wheel is well reproduced, is metal, the dashboard is very well detailed, with all your bookmarks speed rpm etc, the shifter is functional, like the handbrake and pedals

the back is very detailed, if you take away the bodywork, you can see the fuel tank, filler fuel  is removable, and you see the filter apart from the deposit, the suspension  is very detailed, the crossbows and sheets are made by metal

the underbody are very well reproduced, the area you can remove from the bodywork (going by magnets) and also see the chassis and other parts with their hoses

So, I just sold my 246 and really regret it. This is absolutely the best model I have ever seen. A true piece of art. Nothing gets better. Congrats on yours. Very nice.

Very impressive effort. Especially the gear shifter assembly and linkage, and the leaf springs out back

Awesome! It is sad that Exoto customer sevice is not on par with the quality of their models.

Usually before a collector buys his 1st Exoto, he would say he is getting just one for a centre piece. But once he starts, he can't stop!

Wow, stupendous, amazing, fantastic, a model that deserves what must be your largest photoshoot ever posted, great work showing every single dtail and type of functionality. I'd love one of these, but they're just beyond expensive. It does show that, while I love CMC, Exoto does have them beat when it comes to engeneering if they put their best effort on the stand, obviously disregarding the price. I guess anything's possible if price is not an issie. Just look at Amalgam. Anyways, where did you get this model, is Exoto still on sale in the EU anywhere?

If it's not die-cast, it won't have a crumple zone

thanks all for sharing

only are 131 photos :yahoo:

the car was amazing, the problem you put the car near a one CMC and the cmc looks like a Bburago xD

I buy the car in ebay ( casabattiloro) one seller from Exoto

and cost me 630€ + 36€ from the spanish customs :(

Just fantastic.  This one is without a doubt at the top of my Exoto list.  If it wasn't for their crazy international shipping costs and the current strength of the US$, I would have got this in their recent 50% off sale.  Maybe next time.

Congrats on an amazing addition and thanks for the extensive photoshoot, just makes me want it even more now :drool5:

I'm interested in buying this or the 156 sharknose XS. Which one in your opinion has more details or has a more 'wow' factor? I also ordered the Alfa 159 driven by Farina.
