Re: my favourite.....as far as the 1:1..gotta say I've got a real soft spot for the Goldwing and California - but as far as the actual model, it's gotta be the Triumph Hurricane X-75, cause it's just SOOOO off the wall, and has such nice little details..... :drool5: :10:

If you rode it, is it true that there is no fuel tank in its regular position and that fuel is places under seat? And what about in the model?
BTW, nice model and photos, of course.

You're right Dusan....but you wouldn't know it on the model, as the 'tank' doesn't lift up!

I believe the actual fuel tank was under the seat to keep the centre of gravity lower, and the electrics and air filters etc. were under the dummy tank... :twocents:

When I rode one (my friend's), my own bike was a CX500, the centre of gravity with the transverse V-twin configuration very high, and also the seat is high that I had to go on tip-toe ...but the Goldwing seat was also lower, and it just felt so stable I fell in love with it straight away.... :drool5:

There is so much detail to be seen in 1/12 scale with motor bikes. If I could find one of these, I would definitely buy it.

Tech reply #1

On the 1:1 bike, the center piece lifts up, and reveals the gascap, and place to put your wallet, or the bike papers.
The sides house the electrics and fluids, but not many people know, that the right side cover also houses the removable kickstart!
There's a plug on the left side of the engine, unplug it, and the kickstart fits in sideways,
so you have to kick outwards (same direction as the crank rotates).

A friend of mine, who has a classic GL1000 for years now, was quite surprised when i showed him this feature.

Oops, sorry moderator, I forgot we're strictly PG13 here - I didn't mean to offend! :adore:

Therefore next up is a bike that I'm sure you will approve of Sven.......and definitely FULLY clothed!  :giggle:

A bit of a story to tell with this one, it was the eighth model I added to my collection - and was supposed to be my last!!!   ........YEAH RIGHT!!

She is of a series by ERTL that was used to promote American baseball teams....and (probably due to flooding the market!) were going for a song over the pond there a couple of years ago.....
Being a baseball numpty (sorry guys, Brit speaking here! ) I opted for the 'University of Texas' version as it didn't have a league name splashed all across the front of the fairing, but a really cool silhouette of a Texas Longhorn.... :drool5:   encapsulating the 'American' feel IMHO...for a true American Classic ....
