The leather base is optional.

The resellers always have their models came with different options like display case and leather base.

Yep, but that price is not much more than the one that comes with nothing, it's only the 20 EUR shipping cost. And some of the others with no base etc are more money :dunno:

F**k you Photobucket.

I pre-ordered the BBR LaFerrari diecast and the leather base option was like 5 or 6 euro more.
No big deal but since I don't want my models on a base (especially those with opening bits) I went with the styrofoam base.

It’s also confusing because BBR did release resin versions of the Evo on the leather bases as well as in some of the same liveries

That's quite odd that they don't add a premium for the leather base + display case + nicer outer box option ... compared to a styrofoam base with regular outer box. Usually you'd be looking at 50 or so euro more.

On the bbr site, the styrofoam box version is retailed at 241 euros while the leather base is 269 euros so obviously not the same.

The Laferrari Aperta with leather base is 5 euro more than with the styrofoam base. The display case is 22 euro more.

Depending on models the difference may be different.

Can the model be detached from the leather base? I heard some rumors that it's impossible to detach...

Some do, some don't. 458 Speciale was a no. The new Pista's are a YES. Also, the SP1 and 2.

What are you looking at? Maybe someone knows for sure.

I could detach all my previous resin BBR Ferraris from the base, there are 3 screws to unscrew, and you can 'feel' the hole for the screws with a soft touch with your finger from underneath the base.

Thanks guys, I also received messages from another forum saying that you can simply cut a small hole on the back side of the leather base and unscrew, to detach the model.

I was thinking about getting the diecast LaFerrari, but need to get it off the base to make group shots with other Ferrari flagships.

You can just order the new Laferrari without the base. That's what I will be doing as I have no use for that plinth covered in synthetic leather.

I'm still looking at Ferrari FXXK Evo models. As nice as the opening ones are. I think I want a sealed resin one :dunno: but there doesn't seem to be that many for sale anymore. I'm not spending £300+ on one.

F**k you Photobucket.

I got my yesterday, and I was blown how good diecast FXX K is. I recommend you to get one.

Have the white one and it’s gorgeous! :drool5:
Wasn’t 100% sure whether I should order but then I thought BBR should be incentivised for re-engaging in diecast.

Now I am considering to grab the Laferrari Aperta...

Remember, you can always sell a model you don't like ;) How, will you sell it with a loss or not I don't know.

I preordered both as soon as they come out. I don't like that BBR is playing games but OK. It seems that all one with a stand are limited edition (499 samples) and ones with no stands are unlimited.
