I've been wondering this for a while...Where do you guys get your parts for engine builds? I searched a few places such as tremonia's ebay page, but all I found were specific transkits. Are there places for universal parts like air filters, intakes, radiators, turbos, plumbing and the likes?

I have an extensive supply of donor models that I harvest most of my parts from.  My orientation is American and/or road racing, don't have a lot of turbo stuff, and very few streeter parts.  Plus there are some methods of scratchbuilding things (for example you can use really small coated copper wire for oil and fuel lines).

If there is anything in particular you are looking for, PM me.

I use a mixture between parts that I have assembled by butchering cars with big QC problems + various bits I find lying around (seriously, I see the world totally different now, lol) there is so much that is made for other uses that can be manipulated into 1/18 engine parts + various ebay stuff. I get my wires from computer parts, and varius manufacturers like Hobby Design. I also use photoetch bits that are meant for other things + build my own parts from photoetch that is again meant for other things, hehe. Photoetch + clippers + glue is like advanced lego. :giggle:

I hear you though, I wish there was more premade parts for 1/18 engine porn. There is some, but very limited in 1/18 as far as I know.

I didnt see any engine bits in that Facebook-link, thumper?

Search for a seller called evolution_online on ebay, they have a lot of cool stuff. Search for 1/20 too.

Yeah donor card is the main source... There are a number of us that have many donor cars! Also toys can supply parts - maybe not so much on terms of engines though... I often look for cheap busted up models at markets etc as part sources... Though I have received the odd model or twenty from Ibj40 over the years too ;-)

Look for seller:1940dodg on eBay as he often has lots of parts. You can also get parts from 1:24th car and truck kit sets that are ok too....
