Hi guys, I am considering getting myself a BBR model.
Where are the better places to order one or am I better off going straight to the BBR website.
Also, can I spec my model or are the colors fixed?

Which  BBR model are you looking at ?

Often the BBR model store has slightly better prices as resellers / stores will charge more for the rare (limited number) releases. Bare in mind that some sellers such as Racline models in the US have colours of models exclusive to them.
As far as I know, they don't offer a customisation option.

Alright. Order placed on BBR's online store.
Apparently the price is much lower when ordering as a registered member.
Can't wait for my 1st BBR!

Opps, sorry I missed your question both times.
Since they announced the LaFerrari with the engine bay opening, I thought it would be a good time to get my 1st resin.
That's the one I preordered.

It's good to see BBR progressing and moving towards opening parts again.

not really opening parts, more like removable piece, still a far cry from their diecast past

If it's not die-cast, it won't have a crumple zone

A step closer, ever so slowly moving towards opening parts.

Hello
I want to buy some modern Ferrari cars, like F12TDF & SF16-H.
I don't know if buy them from BBR or MR or Looksmart.
Which one you prefer and you can suggest me?
You know, generally, which are the Pros & Cons of these brands?
Thanks

Theres not much difference in quality between BBR and MR. My preference is BBR as they are cheaper and personally i like their bases too.

also if ordering from outside the EU its cheaper customs fees on a BBR due to it being lighter.

I usually order form BBR when there is a discount code, can usually get 10% extra off

The thing that let me thinking is that that MR is the official supplier of the most important luxury brand (ferrari, lamborghini, bugatti, bentley, pagani...),
so if the automotive brand ask directly to them to produce their models, should mean that the quality is better than BBR..

About the worldwide quantities, I saw BBR make many special color series, and many pieces are unsold with low price now, MR keep the numbers more low and so they are more exclusive: for the similar price they should keep better the value in future!
And MR also do Atelier models, fully customized by your own requirement in every part, so they usually pay more attention to all details.

What you think about?

It really depends on what you want, I have maybe a dozen or so models from both makers, when buying a Ferrari model I used to get MR, but QC issues put me off. I much prefer BBR ones now as they offered the colours / choices I preferred, plus I've never had a problem with any of them.

For models that BBR won't produce, like a Bugatti Veyron Vitesse I went with MR as I really wanted the model.

@georgelaw: The F12tdf will be out as die-cast too, from BBR.

which QC problems you had?
about the colors, if you really want get an OneOff the only solution is MR Atelier I think.
Yes, about the diecast version let's see which will be the quality and cost.. the problem is that will be ugly to have a collection with some items in resin and some in diecast...

What's so ugly about it? I don't get it.

I have a mixed collection with all kinds of materials, and I couldn't be happier, since I got the best of all worlds.

Ugly is a ugly word, no pun intended.
A mixed collection is still a beauty to behold.
I think the word you are looking for is inconsistency.
But if the models are displayed well, it shouldn't matter.

For me, one of my MR Ferrari's came with wavy / blown out windows all round, I sent it back. I then received a replacement, that too had the same thing but only on a couple of windows, it also had a scuff on the base that had been touched in with a Sharpie pen.
I've also had another MR Ferrari arrive with the windscreen wipers not attached to screen anymore. This was a few years ago now, but I don't buy their items anymore. When it comes to BBR, I've not experienced any problems and on the last count I have fifteen of them.
