I was really looking forward to a new 1:18 DBS, but unfortunately it is based on the ERTL. This car deserves better!

I didn't realise the DBS was a thing until someone posted a photo of one on Reddit. It has started appearing at online retailers and on eBay.

According to Bond fan site MI6 HQ, the DBS will be the first in a series of Bond cars: https://www.mi6-hq.c...toworld-qos-dbs

That's interesting news! Although maybe they are all based on the ERTL toolings...
Anyway, the timing of the release is good, just before the new Bond movie.

Had a better look at Autoworld's DBS and while the initial few pictures I saw looked promising, I later stumbled upon this... Those panel gaps especially in the door area, front logo placement and paint finishing leaves much to be desired.

Also the front number plate in the movie is bigger than on that model.

So they will also make the Valhalla, according to this site (although this site got the name incorrectly, there is no Valkyrie in No time to die, but Valhalla)

And there appears to be no detail of the country and region in the blue strips (which seem to be the wrong shade of blue).

Curious whether anyone on this forum ended up buying this model? Despite its obvious shortcomings, toy-like appearance and price (~US$115 shipped), I may eventually succumb to buying one, given my collection of 1:18 007 Aston Martins and the fact that it's still the only 1:18 2007 DBS model on the market, apart from the older Etrl one.

I wanted, but I couldn't, not at this price point. If it was 40-60 euros it would have been a different case. I guess the license is very expensive :dunno:
