I'm still saying that the Ford Logos and the black GT are a waste... They will come as an opac chrome, without understanding.

In my opinion you could add the "GT500" and the "50th anniversary"...

:nice:

Are you referring to these two?

Honestly they were both on my radar and I must have gotten sidetracked and forgotten about them... I will add them tonight.

A little late to your post, but Awesome idea bigbluesd!
Is this something they may make available thru EBay, or is it just going to be a personal purchase? I would love to get some of those for my models.
Looking forward to your progress with this. :yahoo:

It will be available through eBay, I'll post here when it is. I sent him the artwork last week but haven't gotten a response yet, no idea how long it will take for him to start selling it.

Great job! With so many emblems I think he needs a large sheet to make sure the scale is correct compared to what he is normally selling...

It's 9.5cm by 8.5cm, there are plenty on his storefront that size already (and larger) so I hope that isn't an issue. Here is the final version I submitted:

Aww man, that's one I intended to include and forgot about it. It might be too late to put it in but I'll try.

Quick update, I added the California Special logo and sent him a revised copy. We are going back and forth on size, in Corel on my end it's 95mm x 85mm but he says that the sheet will be 92mm x 112mm... I'm confused by that and there is a slight language barrier so I'm hoping he will do them at the correct scale. I don't understand why it would be at a different size on his end because I thought Corel maintained size accurately in the file. I explained to him that I included a scale for reference in the corner so hopefully he will figure that out. He said he does intend to put them on his eBay storefront.

Received my decals from globaltoy today, they look great! I don't think I really had a good feel for exactly how fine some of the details would be, it may be a challenge filling some areas with paint as I had originally planned. A black wash might work well with some of them though. He added an inventory number to the artwork so I'm assuming he plans on selling them on eBay, I don't see any up yet but I'm sure they'll make it there eventually. Here are some photos:

looks very nice, those photo etch logos can sometimes come very handy when a model somehow looses a logo or badge. or simply for modding :)
i also buy some from globaltoy once in a while.

will you be making more, or other than US brands? i need some Toyota Supra badges and stuff, and this Supra stuff is very limited in particular.

I have a Mustang on the bench that could totally use some of these!  When you hear of them hitting eBay, I will have to grab them.

No, it was a labor of love so I don't have any interest in making more of them. If you can learn how to do the artwork though I'm certain he would work with you to make them. He charged me $30 to do this sheet and I told him to feel free to resell them.

If you can procure a copy of Photoshop and Corel Draw you have what you need to do the artwork. My process was:

1. Find highest resolution image possible of the logo I wanted to include
2. Convert it to clean black and white format in Photoshop, trim the image so there's only one extra white pixel on all sides of the logo.
3. Save to JPG, import it into the file you're making in CorelDraw
4. Use Quick Trace in CorelDraw to convert it to vector, 1 color, remove all background option
5. Use eBay or reseller sites to determine the width or height of the emblem, divide that by 18 and set size accordingly in Corel Draw.

If I could find a nice large, clean black and white image of the emblem and had the dimensions on hand it only took me a minute or two per emblem to get it into the right format. Of course it was all the more obscure ones that turned this into a several week project

Haven't seen him post them yet, the sheet number is 7571.

Here's a photo of the first one I've used on my Maisto Mustang GT, it's one of the two-layer emblems on the PE sheet, I painted the bottom layer black and put the second layer on top of it. Sorry for the crappy photo quality.... the existing Maisto tampo is still in place above it, have to try and remove that another night, our house is chaos while we replace all of our flooring so I can't get to the rubbing alcohol, etc. at the moment.

For anyone trying to reproduce some other logos, this site might be quite useful http://www.brandsoftheworld.com/. There are tons of vector logos that you could use (so basically skip 1-4 steps in bigbluesd's guide)

Just shoot him a message about this set and he will ask how many you need. Thanks for this AWESOME set it covers a TON of different project!
