I picked this up for a deal at $45 so I figured I would try doing modest 4X4 mods like I would probably do to a 1:1.  I added the wheels from a Hot Wheels Jeep, a push bar with lights, a few antennas, some lights on the roof bar and then the various bits in the bed.  Not a crazy 4x4, but rather maybe a beach or bush truck...

That is really cool! When did action do a Ford ranger? Do you have pics of the original?

Thanks Josh.  Here are some pics of the original (borrowed from ebay).  I found mine on Ebay under a 1/18 Ranger search.  Hope that helps!

Thanks. I love that it has a bed liner! That is a cool model, although it is slightly different from American ranger, I actually like it more. I out some miles on these over the years and other than being too small for an average US male I really liked it. Solid truck all around. I am surprised Ford stopped making it.

When I pulled the photos from ebay, the seller also had it titled as a Mazda B250.  When I looked for some pics of the Mazda, sure enough it was a the same as the Ranger.  I know Ford produced the Ranger throughout the world, but stop making here in the US for quite some time.  My guess was when Ford owned a portion of Mazda, it was also marketed in different regions around the world, but still different than the US version which like you mentioned was small.

I never owned one, but it looks like it was fairly dependable.

I did not own one either but drove them for work and they were solid small trucks with good pickup and decent ride. Just eggress/ingress was poor.

Very nice :eusa_clap: :eusa_clap:
Really liking those wheels
Here in South Africa we had the same Rangers and yes because Ford and Mazda fall under the same dealership they are identical too.

That looks pretty badass! Where did you get the wheels and tires for it? I'm looking for some decent ones but can't find any

The Action Ranger is a very underestimated model. I have that blue one too, there's a red one too, but no metallic paint.

Usually i'm jealous about the prices you pay in the US, but that model can be bought over here for $30-35. Won mine for $27, including local shipping.

Thanks!  The wheels came from a Hot Wheels Jeep. I also started looking for some on the r/c websites.  Sometimes you can find a set in 1/24 but are big for the scale and fit 1/18s.

Awesome, thanks for the tip! Yeah I was looking for some RC ones for a while now but it's very difficult to find decent ones that would suit the 1/18 cars/scale.
