Here's a thought. What if Kyosho totally created a new casting for a MK IV Supra like they have done for their R32 GT-R Skyline in 2005 as the first one was from 1993..so, since they have a base, they could totally make a new 1/18th scale Supra model..using a completely new mold like they have done with their Skyline GT-R BNR32 :yahoo:
i dont see Kyosho do it as they have hardly been making any new models for the last years
Sad, but so true   Seems like even the old school diecasters have lost their hearts with passion for this hobby.. :dunno:

Make the Best Out of Life!

I would love to see the JGTC Castrol Supra in 1/18. Castrol NSX while you're at it!

I don't see anything wrong with the old Kyosho release, I have the one with the hood scoop in silver and it's perfect as is but it would be good to see Paudi or AUTOart release it.
I'm so JDM I named my house Keiichi Tsuchiya

Kyosho's Supra are quite dated. As Alex mentioned it has lots of things that can be improved. IIRC the firewall is not even fully covered, i.e. one can see the interior from the engine bay. and dog leg door hinges etc etc.

Check out my custom works at Technica's Portfolio.

yeah, thats right. and the door interior panels is missing a lot of details/shapes. the shape of the headlights is a little bit off. i can make a long list.
no doubt it is a good model for it's time and what it originally cost, but we need something up to date.

The Kyosho version is the best by far, but it is true it needs a makeover. The body panels and the hinges, the dashboard and details like the lights etc need to be updated. Maybe it would be a good move to make a Petition to AUTOart or Kyosho, signed by many members of DX. Its one of the models we need to have.

Hahaha. The good news is, we can always wait. Autoart’s been v slow the recent 3 years, ever since I came back to the hobby. And very expensive.

No, it's sealed. It's a good looking model but they made the front wheel opening too wide at the front bumper.

yeah i kind of expected that is was sealed resin. i havent seen any photos of it, but it looks like it could be better than the LS Collectible and Ottomobile 1:18 Supra.
something does look off with the front bumper. also the headlights are black on the One Model, but this is a prefacelift version, so the headlights is supposed to be chrome silver.

here is a photo with facelift headlight (black) and prefacelift headlight (chrome siliver)

Yeah that's a good point about the headlights. I suppose we'll have to wait for better pictures to surface, but I have no doubt that aside from the front wheel openings, it will look better than the LS Collectibles and Ottomobile abominations.

The only Supra models which opens are the Kyosho and some Jada 1/18 "tuned" models. I have all Supras in 1/18 (Kyosho, Jada, Otto, Ignition) except one model and LS models. I believe that AUTOart will make it since it is so popular car. They can make a tuned version from initial D also since they made the RX-7, trueno and Skyline R32. They can make the tuned version from WANGAN midnight also. But please autoart, make a full opening Supra mk4. You have to.

No worries. I don't believe Onemodel have ever made an opening car (I could be wrong though, never really looked into them)

the ERTL Supras from the Fast and the Furious and 2Fast 2Furious also opens :)
there is a lot of options for tuned versions.

im not really expecting AUTOart to make it, but its strange as they make the other 90s japanese that are closely associated, Skyline, NSX, RX-7 Fairlady Z's and like that.

they haven't yet, they did want to attempt it tho and also wanted to make a second, somewhat cheaper less quality brand. They do already have a second brand to get around some licensing..

as for their supra, I had their sample model and gave them a run down on things that were wrong, I never got any feedback, and from my experience, I doubt they did any changes.

Will keep praying that AUTOart will one day make the Supra
