Is it the same quality as the previous release?

This is really cool, as some one who is really into vans and I am sitting here with one of the original Highway 61 van in front of me I can say it is really great to see this being brought back.  There is just not enough examples of these in 1:18 scale, and wagons, but I leave that alone.

I have also owned a real 1979 G10 that was heavily customized and I loved it. I also have started to put a 1976 g10 back together, hope to get some powder coating down this winter on some of the suspension parts...but I take a step back.

Just from looking at the above pictures and looking at the previous model on my desk..the quality looks about the same to a T, except for a few small areas.  The dash is the only area that appears to have been improved with the two tone and more realistic instrument cluster, beyond that this cheaps out as far as I can tell.  I noticed that the carpet is not flocked like the original and there is no picture of the back roof vent opening but it might, just no picture of it.   Personally beyond the carpet, the cabinet is solid wood where as the original has a mirrored sticker to represent a cooler, a  lot of these vans had them, I have a real one in my garage that goes to the one I am working on.

From there a few things that I see based on the photos could have been improved on are and are not limited too; Those mustang wheels, a set of Crager SS's  would have been more consistent and much better looking.  Mustang rims on a Chevy..what!..or are they off a Camaro? Then the engine compartment, though there is not much of one..there is one in there right.  At the very least the hood could lift so you could the top of the engine; that, and even better the doghouse could be moved forward to show the engine from the inside the cab.

Beyond that is still looks fabulous but I think falls short of the old Highway 61 level of detail by a bit, at least what I can see by the above photos...still great to see though.

Such lazy repaint, what makes this vehicle detectives police car from CSI Miami? They only added logo, license plate and nothing else.

Where is police beacon or computers? This is easy pass as movie car.

Can anybody explain to me this model?Same CSI Miami hummer only another model year of car...

If this will be same unfinished movie car without interior touch and absenting police beacon, Im curious for which collectors they are aiming...

Maybe it's not CSI Miami but NCIS?

I found this too.Im confused.Autonomous vehicle named Otto is only NCIS vehicle that can be it.

I ask my dealer and for europe its under CSI Miami license, but people can make mistakes.

Another three new Highway 61 models.

https://www.diecastc...ails/highway 61

Im curious why they choose that yellow hummer for "entourage" license rather than Bad Boys 2 license(They have both licenses) .

Maybe license for entourage is cheaper, literally these hummers are almost same.

And most important question is why they need license for yellow hummer...
