As you can see by my signature, it has been a while since I bought model cars. Been investing in photography equipment, lenses, and other items. After a long hiatus, I've decided to finally purchase one of my holy grails, albeit in a smaller size but more high end. Here is my new Make Up Co. Ltd. 1/43 Porsche 993 GT2 in Polar Silver! Big thank you to Stu72 for answering some questions and advice in regards to 1:43 and more specifically of this company. Their attention to detail, craftsmanship, and aim for perfection is simply exquisite. Hope you enjoy the photos!

Great choice Joseph :10:.

I have this one on the way to me as well, but I'm also tempted to pick up the yellow version as well.

That looks top-notch!  Would love to pick up a yellow one too, although eBay seems to have just one GT2 of any color that's not the "Option Equipment" version...  I'm guessing yellow would fetch a higher premium?

Also, would anyone know the product code for that color?  VM114 turns up the silver, and VM116 shows a bunch of the OE versions in different shades...  Can't even find a working link for the yellow one on Google :wtff:

For the yellow version you are looking at code VM114B

Make Up offer the GT2 street version in five colours and are coded as follows

VM114A  -  Silver
VM114B  - Speed Yellow
VM114C  -  Red
VM114D - White
VM114E  - Black

here's a link to a retailer in the U.S. that stocks and sells Make Up models. They have a yellow GT2 street version in stock at the moment

My favourite 911! This is a really nice model, congrats! Make Up company makes I think the best 1/43 in the market.

With a few exceptions :yahoo:  I wanted one of their F50s for a long time and in my research saw that the proportions and ride height were quite a bit off.  A real shame, because their 288 GTO and F355 are so spot-on!  So I ended up with an F50 from Kyosho, which to my eye actually sits better on its wheels - and the loss of fine details was more than made up for by opening parts.  I'll dare say it's better than the 1:18 HWE.
